If you're searching for things to do in Penrith, why not learn how to create a useful basket for your kitchen with this hands-on, tactile basket weaving workshop?
Learn from expert weaver Rachel Frost, who will help you create a breathable and beautiful basket that's perfect for storing garlic, keeping it both fresh and dry!
You'll craft your basket using traditional hand weaving techniques and natural rush, a pliable and supple material harvested by hand from the special waterways of England. The rush has been carefully cut and gathered to bolts dried in the sunshine and air in a natural, chemical-free harvesting process.
At the end of this Penrith class, you'll have a newfound confidence in your weaving abilities and a handmade basket to take home!
Please note: there will be a materials charge payable directly to the tutor on the day in cash of approx £15 upwards depending on the materials used.
