There were only two of us in the class so we got lots of attention and one on one time and the vibes were just great. A perfect Saturday activity. And my pillow case turned out so cute!

I have played around with a sewing machine before but it was great to fully understand the basics (understanding the machine, winding and threading the bobbin, threading the machine, use of different stitches and sewing in a straight/curved line). The pacing of the course was great and we left with a pillow case we made.

It’s great value for money, and there is a good choice of different fabrics, so there is something for everyone. I now have the confidence to start my own projects!

Plenty of time to go at your own pace, all in bite size steps and a small group so tutor to hand for trouble shooting and further guidance. Plenty of time to practice things a few times and learn all you need to get cracking as soon as you get home. Making a cushion cover involves other sewing skills, such as sewing hems, so came away knowing more than I expected! Tutor really lovely and very experienced, so feel confident that I’m taking good habits home.

There were 4 of us and she checked our progress throughout and we had easy access to her for any queries. Learnt how to drive the cloth through the machine smoothly to get sewing and ended up sewing a lovely cushion cover. It was a very warm and relaxed atmosphere throughout the course. Thank you so much Robyn for your patience and guidance. See you in the next course.

We felt comfortable to ask Ali any questions or to repeat the step again. A very enjoyable experience, and we got to take our beautiful cushions home. I would recommend this course.

The class had everything we needed to hand. Ali was super knowledgeable with other sewing machines and guided us through the day at a great pace. Super happy with the envelope cushion cover and it has inspired me to sew more.

I was thrilled at how much I learned in such a short time. Ali was approachable, adapted to each person’s circumstances and was skilled at making the learning fun. I also enjoyed meeting the other students and we were all delighted at what we achieved in one session.

I would recommend this small group class to anyone wanting to take their first machine sewing steps. It was lovely to leave with a complete cushion after starting out just learning how to even thread up the machine.

The pace of the class was great. She even made good coffee. I liked how she used each of our creations at some point to demonstrate the next step but didn't do too much of it so that we learnt too. Highly recommend.

We were taught how the sewing machine works, we were given a couple of exercises to help us get used to the machine and to have fun with different stitches. Then we were taught how to make a pillowcase. It was so easy and so much fun! The teacher was great and made it very easy for us to understand! I would highly recommend this class.

Emma was great and taught me step by step how to set up the machine and all the different stitches. I made my own cushion and it looks great 100% recommend the class

This beginner's cushion making class was perfect for a complete beginner like me and my husband as we practiced a lot of basic sewing machine operations so that I don't feel using the machine daunting.Emma is very friendly and a great teacher. The class size was also good (6 people) and all of us can get enough attention from Emma when needed. I was really inspired by the class so have just booked the washing bag class now! My cat loves the cushion my husband made in the class

I found the pedal intimidating before the class (and forgot to bring mine along), but with the exercises and Emma’s tips, I was actually surprised how well it worked when I tried it at home. Emma was very friendly and encouraging throughout the day. I am certainly motivated to sew more and am looking forward to the intermediate class. Absolute recommendation for anyone considering to get into sewing!

A small (6), friendly class guided us step by step to a professional looking cushion cover. Our teacher, Robyn, was enthusiastic and patient. Every step was demonstrated and we all had one to one attention through the day. The Sewing Studio is roomy and bright. Everything was provided from a variety of fabrics to cushion pads, tools, and even a selection of teas. There are examples of sewing crafts on the walls and the atmosphere is sociable. It was so relaxing to spend a day learning something with like minded people. We were all keen to take more classes to progress further.

What I learnt in a few hours was great and had really given me the confidence to get back on it. Robyn, who was our teacher for the day was brilliant. So lovely, patient and with a wealth of experience and shared so many useful tips. Loved the class that much, have booked myself onto the next Intermediary Class-tempted after that to go for the whole garment making course. Clearly now got the bug! Thanks again! X
