Recent reviews of Machine Sewing Class at Home: Bunting Beauties

  • 5/5 from Emma, attended Dec 2025: Lovely bunting sewing course with Hollie that really is suitable for all abilities! I haven’t used a sewing machine for years and borrowed one for this. Hollie was patient and gently supportive for a relaxed and fun session. I love my new festive bunting and it’s made up my mind to get my own machine and have a go at some projects of my own!
  • 5/5 from Jacqueline Buck, attended Dec 2025: A really good class for those with just a bit of knowledge of using a sewing machine. Clear instructions, patiently given, throughout and the result was a beautiful Christmas bunting. The materials are of excellent quality and Hollie is a great teacher.

In memory of my Mum (Mamgu)
House of Beeves was born after I inherited a load of craft stuff when my mum passed away prematurely. She was about to move in with us so we already had her new craft station set up and ready to go (something she had insisted upon before agreeing to join us!).
After about 6 months of staring at it, I decided to have a go (if only to try and complete some of her many half-finished projects). I had to watch YouTube tutorials even to learn how to thread the sewing machine. But I haven’t looked back since.
Prior to this I was a midwife for 15 years. But a combination of things (another story) meant I gave it up around 6 months ago - and House of Beeves was born.
Crafting (mainly sewing) makes me feel so close to my mum and has me realising how much creativity I had in me all along! It has also proven to be generally super good for my mental health.
I now want to take everything I’ve learned and help others at the start of their crafting journeys - a safe place to be new but wanting to love making things.
