  • 5/5 from Suzanne Durov, attended Mar 2026: Having bought my grandchildren ‘how to crochet your own toys’ for Christmas and not being able to follow the instructions myself, I booked into the beginners class for crochet. Everything was provided and the teacher was very patient, encouraging us to start with the slip knot. In 1 1/2 hrs we learnt how to double and treble crochet too. I feel confident I can now help my grandchildren with their first steps to crocheting. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and may go back for a follow up, once I’ve practised what I learnt.

  • 5/5 from Louise Caplin, attended Aug 2025: Chrissi was superb and patient. Learnt chain stitch double and treble stitch would like to know more and perhaps for a longer class.
  • 4/5 from Lisa Pemberthy, attended Aug 2025: Chrissie the instructor was fab, very patient and encouraging. The class had 5 people in it and it was quite tricky for her to keep helping everyone. Maybe a bit more advice at the beginning to make sure you keep it loose would have helped. A fun afternoon and I’m inspired to keep trying it. The things Chrissie had made were outstanding! Thank you
  • 3/5 from Liz Vajir, attended Aug 2025: My children found it difficult to follow and not partocularly engaging. Would probably have been fine for adults.

  • 5/5 from Amanda, attended Apr 2025: Great to have only the 2 of us, which allowed a lot of individual support. Teacher was friendly, informative and most importantly patient. Nice to be in a private room rather than on the shop floor. Learnt to make a chain stitch, double crochet and treble crochet. Left with lots of yarn to practice with! Thank you
  • 5/5 from Joanna Harris, attended Mar 2025: Chrissie is the most amazing teacher. She is able to explain things so simply, and she was happy to repeat steps if needed, so that even I have come away from the class feeling that I have the basic skills to start making simple items - starting with a scarf to perfect my stitches and tension. Everything that was needed was supplied - two colours of yarn, a crochet hook, written instructions to take away so there was no need to make notes, and a tote bag to store everything in. The class was held in a comfortable room, away from the shop floor, so it was easy to concentrate on the class. The time flew by, but we were able to learn how to tie a slip knot, chain stitch, the double and treble stitch. Luckily there were only two of us in the class, so lots of individual attention. It was inspiring to see some items in the room which Chrissie had made - she is a very talented lady. I couldnt resist buying a few items in the shop after the class - a pretty bag to store the yarn safely, a matching holder for crochet hooks, stitch markers and just a littl bit more yarn may have fallen into my shopping basket. I am already planning on attending the Granny Squares class, and having some one to one sessions when I am starting a project, I have really caught the crochet bug!
