Whether you've always wanted to learn to crochet, have struggled to teach yourself from videos, or simply don't know where to begin, this relaxed, one-to-one workshop is the perfect place to start.
With private tuition, you'll learn at your own pace in a friendly, supportive environment. We'll begin with the essential crochet techniques and stitches, building your confidence step by step so that by the end of the session you'll have the skills and knowledge to continue your crochet journey at home.
As a crochet designer, technical editor and tutor, I bring real industry experience to every lesson. My designs have been published in Crochet Now, Inside Crochet and Knotions magazines, and I was delighted to design the Crochet Society's 2025 Advent CAL. I love sharing the knowledge I've gained through designing professionally, but my greatest enjoyment comes from helping others discover just how rewarding crochet can be.
My aim is always to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. There are no silly questions here - everyone starts somewhere, and I'll be with you every step of the way.
The aim is simple: for you to leave feeling confident, inspired and excited to pick up your hook again.
If you can't see a date or time that suits you, please send me a message. I'll always do my best to accommodate alternative dates and times where possible.

The booking itself was easy to make and we received contact from Nancy before the workshop which was really helpful. I would definitely recommend to others wanting to try something new!

Hi, I'm Nancy, the force behind CraftingisourJazz.
I'm a crochet designer, technical editor and tutor with a passion for helping others discover just how enjoyable and rewarding crochet can be.
My designs have been published in Crochet Now, Inside Crochet and Knotions magazines, and I was delighted to design the Crochet Society's 2025 Advent CAL.
Alongside designing, I work as a crochet technical editor, helping designers produce clear, accurate patterns for crocheters around the world.
My crochet journey began during a difficult time for my family. Crafting became a source of comfort and relaxation for my daughter, who lives with a chronic illness, and seeing the difference it made inspired me to pick up my own hook again. Before long, I realised crochet offered me the same welcome escape from the everyday challenges that chronic illness brings to the whole family.
What started as a hobby soon became a real passion. Friends and family began asking me to create handmade pieces, which naturally led me into designing my own patterns. Since then, I've been fortunate to see my work published in several well-known crochet publications and to work with some wonderful organisations within the crochet community.
Today, I combine my design work, technical editing and teaching through CraftingisourJazz. Whether I'm designing a new pattern, editing someone else's work or teaching a beginner to hold a crochet hook for the very first time, my goal is always the same - to help people enjoy crochet with confidence.
I love teaching both one-to-one lessons and small group workshops, either in person or online. My classes are relaxed, friendly and supportive, and I believe there are no silly questions. Everyone starts somewhere, and I'll be with you every step of the way as you begin your own crochet journey.
