Discover the fantastic art of needle felting at this fun and friendly full-day craft class. Guided by an expert felting tutor, you'll learn how to create a beautiful 3D hare.

If you'd prefer to make a different creature, come to this class with a picture of the animal of your choice and your supportive tutor will help you bring it to life in felted form! Popular alternative animal choices are dogs, cats and donkeys.

During this craft class, your tutor will teach you a range of techniques as you learn step-by-step how to make your felted animal. To begin, you will create a 3-dimensional form from wool fibres using a special barbed needle. Barbara from Feltworld Creative Arts is a multimedia artist, creating colourful works of art.

During Barbara's classes, you can learn:

  • Wet felting and needle felting.
  • Batik painting – an ancient art form where you draw with hot beeswax with a tool called a tjanting, using a bowl with a fine tube for the wax to flow through and onto the cotton material to create a clear line.
  • How to work with alcohol inks. Creating abstract designs using isopropyl alcohol and alcohol inks is amazing fun.
