4 Week Crochet Course - Hexi Cardigan

Join this 4-week crochet course in Eastbourne and learn how to make your very own Hexi-Cardigan. You’ve probably seen Kate wear her Hexi-Cardi around the studio, and now you can learn how to make one for yourself!Over the 4 weeks, you’ll learn every stitch and technique you need to crochet your own soft, cosy, beautiful cardigan. Kate has taken the classic Hexi cardigan design and refined it, so it fits every body, every shape, and every size. You'll learn how to size it to your body and how to size it to fit other people.Your tutor is Kate McCully, an award-winning crochet designer, author, and experienced crochet workshop tutor. She creates patterns under the name Make Me Roar and writes regularly for magazines. You might even recognise her as the winner of Channel 4’s *Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas*!Everything you need is included in the price: a Clover hook, stitch markers, and 5 balls (200g each) of premium Rico Creative Chic Unique Chunky Yarns in gorgeous colours (RRP £80).*Course Overview*This is a rough outline of what you'll cover each week. Everyone crochets at a different pace, which is perfectly okay.

• Week 1: Getting Started – You'll start the hexi panels that will become the main panels of your cardigan. You can then work the rest of the panels at home ready for week 2.
• Week 2: Adding Rows and Joining – Next, you will add rows to the back and sleeves, measuring and sizing the cardigan to fit you. You'll work out in class how many rows you'll need so you can complete the rest at home.
• Week 3: Sewing & Ribbing – This week, you'll look at how to add length. Then you will sew the 2 panels together and learn how to create the ribbing on the sleeves.
• Week 4: Bringing It All Together – You'll finish up by completing the ribbing, sewing in ends, and getting advice on how to finish your cardigans at home.

You will leave this 4-week course with your first cardigan finished (or very close) and the confidence and pattern to go and make more at home... because when your friends find out you can make these, they'll be wanting one too!

• Please note:
• This course is for those who have recently started crocheting, through to experienced crocheters who'd like to have a go at making a garment.
• You'll need to know how to do a chain and a treble crochet to do this course. If you have never picked up a hook before, then please take our crochet taster class first to learn these stitches.
• You will need to work on your crochet cardigan a bit between classes, but it will be just things we have covered in the class that week.
• Don't worry if you don't get finished in the classes. We'll be hosting some 'finishing classes' to suit you, or you can come along to our Meet & Makes on a Thursday afternoon.
• Materials: We will send you a link with the colours to choose from (26 options) closer to the date, or you can pop into the studio to look. We will be putting orders in at the end of December to ensure it arrives in time. If you join the course after this cut-off date, we will have a range you can choose from, just not as extensive.
