I managed to pick it up and have been continuing the sashiko patch at home. All equipment is provided in the class. The studio is really calming and ideal for learning a new skill.

Luke was so knowledgeable - he gave us all the background information about sashiko (and other Japanese embroidery types). He was calm and patient in his teaching style. And super friendly and chatty. The class was really relaxed and relaxing. Luke gave you the confidence and skills to do more when you got home and I can't wait to have another try when my supplies arrive.

We learned how to manually draft a grid and from a choice of patterns spent the time stitching. Luke was a lovely teacher - very calm and encouraging. The venue os an artistic space with pottery going on next door and a cafe and shop. I enjoyed the experience and excited to have found the Maker’s Quarter. Will definitely go back. Rachael

Luke was a warm and welcoming host and took us expertly through an introduction to sashiko embroidery. I can't wait to apply what Ive learned to some upcoming projects. Luke had a wealth of knowledge of the craft and it's cultural history. I liked that we could take our time and really throw ourselves into the craft. The whole process was very easy going and enjoyable. If you're thinking about it, just do it, you'll love it! Don't forget to ask about Sewing Bee!

Luke is really passionate about Sashiko and Japan and gave us lots of backgroung information and was great explaining what to do. Especially for my daughter who didn't have any stitching experience at all (and managed to pick the trickiest pattern...). I was looking for inspiration / skills for creating a piece of wall art for our lounge and got lots of ideas - I would highly recommend it!

Luke is a great teacher explaining clearly and then showing great patience and positivity in letting you try it out and supporting as needed.
