If you're keen to get in on the satisfying and creative hobby of rug tufting, this workshop in Leeds is the place to be! This beginner-friendly session covers the foundations of rug making, teaching you how to operate a power tufting machine, overviewing the trimming process, and introducing you to various finishing techniques.
Don't worry about feeling overwhelmed either, as you'll have plenty of support from your friendly hosts, who'll be there to make sure everything goes smoothly.
By the end of this 2.5-hour session, you'll have a comprehensive understanding of rug tufting and a beautiful, tote bag to call your own. You'll work on a frame that accommodates pieces up to 25 x 30cm, and you're free to choose any design you'd like for your bag. It's recommended that you choose a design with fewer details for an easier first-time experience.
Choosing your design:When selecting your design, your teacher recommends simplicity and a maximum of 5 colours for best results. Remember, your design's dimensions can be customised to better suit its shape.
Please send the teacher your chosen design at least 8 hours before your workshop date to give them ample time for preparation and setup.
