Turning scrap fabric and cord into bowls.

3 hours Class size 1 to 4 guests       £20

Come and have a go at our newest workshop, fabric wrapped cord. This is a simple but versatile craft and can be used to make all sorts of things like placemats, coasters, and bowls. In this workshop we will be showing you how to make a bowl.
Cord and thread will be provided, but you will need to bring your own scraps if you have any. Don't worry if you don't, because we have a wide range that are available for purchase in our shop.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn how to cut your scrap fabrics into correct sized strips, how to wrap the cord in the strips, make a coil and then zig zag them together, forming a bowl shape.
Our welcoming instructors will guide you through each step, ensuring a relaxing and enjoyable learning experience, allowing you to focus on creating something special with your own hands.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have a unique bowl adding a touch of handmade charm to your home and be inspired to try other shapes and combinations.

The Nimble Thimble was started in 2009 by two friends Val Sandford and Jane Templeman who loved to craft but couldn’t find anywhere local.
From this small beginning The Nimble Thimble was born and proved to be a huge success. So much so that it quickly out grew its premises in Bridge Street and moved to a larger space in Well Street, where it can still be found today.
In 2020 Jane Hawkins took over and, together with Sara Blackwell and Kate Lowe, they aim to make The Nimble Thimble the one stop destination.
2021 saw a facelift and reorganisation of the shop layout. This created more space for new yarn and crafts as well as dressmaking fabrics for the first time.
