What you'll do

Learn how to crochet in no time with this step-by-step crochet class.

Taught in a relaxed and patient way, this crochet workshop introduces you to the essential skills of this rewarding handicraft.

Your experienced tutor will guide you through every part of the process, and with small class sizes, you'll have plenty of support to get you started with learning new crochet stitches and crocheting in rows.

By the end of your crochet workshop you'll:

Know the difference between US and UK terminology (both are commonly used in widely available patterns).
Understand how your hook size, tension, and yarn weight affects the outcome of your finished piece.
Be able to cast a foundation chain.
Complete a row of single crochet stitches (US).
Be able to turn correctly and continue in the row.
Advance to creating a double crochet stitch (US) or observe the method to continue at home.

Enjoy this fun and mindful crochet class by yourself and meet like-minded others keen to learn some yarn skills. Alternatively, you could take part with a friend or loved one and learn to crochet together!

I really enjoyed the lesson. I tried watching videos on YouTube to learn how to crochet but I, learn best when I’m shown something face to face. Emma was really friendly, reassuring and patient. She went at my pace so I was able to go over things again that I wasn’t sure about. I was provided with a lovely little bag with the items required for the class; crochet hook, yarn and stitch markers. I came away from the class learning all the foundation/base stitches so it’s set me in good stead to build on these and try other stitches too. Lots more practicing to do first but I’m really looking forward to starting my first crochet project very soon.
