What you'll do

Come and learn how to make artistic Chinese dishes. We guide you through the process step-by-step and teach you some of the most favourite Chinese dishes in our shop! A unique gift for the cook in your life or a twist on your school and office lunches.

This Chinese cooking class will start with an introductory talk where you will learn everything from the history of sweet sour pork making to modern-day trends. Then, it'll be time to get hands-on with your own creations.

You will find you are usually in small classes in a spacious air-conditioned shop, possibly even just you and the teacher if booking on weekdays. You will get full attention from tutors and your questions will all be answered.

During this Chinese Stir Fry class you'll learn how to:

Select and prepare the correct meat for the dishes.
Cook 2 types of Sweet Sour Pork dishes. Yes, 2 types. Although both translated into the same name, they are totally different dishes. As the long history and wide geographic space of China, often different dishes will be named the same/similar. This class will take you to explore them deeply.
One of the Sweet Sour Pork dishes is Cantonese style. You probably know it from Chinese takeaways. However, you are making the 5-star quality.
The other one is Shanghai style. All ingredients are different. There is not a restaurant that serves it in London. You will only have the chance to taste it in this class.
Dress them with an artistic style on a plate to eat in the shop or in a bento box to take home.

Add On Classes:

All Add-ons are in the same class. It is to save your time and make the class more fun. Please allow extra time, 30 minutes to 1 hour. You can always contact us before booking to find out more details.
If you would like to relax during the class, why not add some drinks at the same time? We have a wide selection of cocktails, both with alcohol or non-alcohol versions, bubble tea drinks, sake and classic tea to choose from. You can enjoy the drinks as well as learn the history behind them. Select them in the Add-On.
You can add Omurice if you want to make your Bento Box look more outstanding.
You can also learn how to sharpen your kitchen knives. Bring one in if safe to do so. You can learn to sharpen your own knife and use it in the class.

At the end of this cooking class, you will have gained some useful cooking knowledge and you'll have made your own bento box to enjoy.

Please do not bring your own drinks or food to the class.
This class is not suitable for pregnant women and young children due to the workload and the length of the class.

Refund and Reschedule:

Please book the date you definitely can attend to help other customers' bookings.
There is no refund for cancellation or absence.
Later than 15 minutes to the agreed time will see the booking cancelled with no refund or reschedule.
The possibility of Reschedule is very limited and will be charged £50 per booking.

Knowledge required

Beginners are welcome.
Children over 14 are welcome as long as with paid adults. Everyone requires a ticket. Children learn better when parents participate.
A person under 18 cannot attend the class alone. We will ask for valid IDs if you look very young. Your class will be cancelled without a refund if you fail to provide proof. It is for your safety and required by the insurance policy. If we don't follow it, this class will not be allowed to continue. Thank you for your understanding.
