Do you like pickled vegetables, freshly made according to your taste? In this London fermentation and pickled vegetables class, you will learn all the essential skills to create authentic Asian pickled vegetables.
As you pick up useful fermenting tips and tricks your friendly chefs guiding the class will also take you through a journey through Asian culinary history. You will find yourself in a small class and spacious shop with air conditioner. Often gets private class in weekdays.
In this class,
you will learn to make three types of pickled vegetables.
Pickled Garlic, you see them in Chinese restaurants.
Pickled Ginger, you see them in Japanese restaurants.
Kimchi, you see them in Korean restaurants.
Add-On Classes
All Add-ons are in the same class. It is to save your time and make the class more fun. Please allow extra time, 30 minutes to 1 hour. You can always contact us before booking to find out more details.
You can add crispy chilli paste, one of very popular sauces in the chef teacher's restaurant.
You can add Daikon or Danmuji, the yellow pickled radish in Japanese or Korean restaurants.

We are a wife-and-husband team running a small shop called Oriental Food in North London.
We started offer cooking classes to commercial clients since 2012. Then it is soon became very popular in general public as well.
Currently we have more than 20 different cooking classes focus on authentic and traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean food. Also have more than 5 different tasting sessions. The sessions let customers explore the traditional style of dishes before deciding which class to learn.

This is a very interesting class.
We are new to the pickled veg world. Simon's class gave us lots of ideas. Every vegetable can be pickled. We learned to make three most popular pickles. On top of that, we tasted many different ones Simon made himself. And they are available to purchase as well.
Very eager to try the ones we made ourselves. Hope they will be same delicious as Simon made.

Thank you very much to Hanna and Simon for a lovely cooking class.
It is a mind-blowing experience. Learnt the authentic methods Asian people fermented vegetables in history.
I went home with three types of fermented vegetables. Tasted a few Simon's signature pickled vegetables in their shop as well. Hanna and Simon provided all equipment including the glass bottles I took home with my final works.
Very clean shop and well organised class. Considering I was alone while a couple having different class. I certainly enjoyed my class and decided to book their class next time.
