If you're a dumpling or gyoza fan but have yet to attempt to make these Asian delicacies at home, this is the virtual cooking class for you!
This beginner-friendly online class will teach you step-by-step how to make the perfect dumplings/gyoza in the comfort of your kitchen.
With the help and guidance of your friendly teacher, you'll learn everything from preparing the fillings to wrapping, cooking and eating your dumplings/gyoza.
Your lesson will kick start with a quick introduction where you will discover some dumpling trivia from the history of dumpling making to some modern-day trends.
During this dumpling making class you'll learn how to:
  • Make dough from wheat flour.
  • Prepare pork mince and seasonal vegetables.
  • Wrap your dumplings.
  • Boiling and fry your creations.
  • Finally, you will understand the difference between Dumpling and Gyoza.
At the end of this cooking class online, you will be able to eat the delicious homecooked dumplings in two different ways. You'll also have the skills and confidence you need to make even more on your own in future.
Notice
  • This class does not suitable for pregnant women as the workload and the length of class.
  • We don't design kit for this class. Because we can only post plain flour. It is widely available in any shops. Fresh ingredients wrapped in dumplings are not allowed in post. You can prepare anything you like from meat to vegetables. To save the environment, shop local and prepare plain flour and any meat or vegetables you like.
  • You can find dumpling/gyoza pastry from Asian stores. Usually frozen, need a few hours to defrost before use.
  • You can make your own dumpling/gyoza pastry from plain flour. We will teach you in the class.
  • Buy a rolling pin and scale if you want to make pastry yourself. If you use frozen pastry, they are not needed.
  • Ticket is per person not per household. Every guest need one ticket for each even from same location.
Refund and Reschedule
  • Please book the dates you definitely can attend to help other customers' bookings. We worked extremely hard and never cancelled or rescheduled a single class in last 10 years due to our reasons. We would ask our customers to help us to keep it that way.
  • Our preparation starts from the minute receiving your booking. Reschedule is also wasting valuable booking slots as other customers cannot booked into your seats.
  • That's the reason reschedule will be charged a minimum £50 fee. And must be informed and paid no later than 1 week in advance. It is not enough to cover the rent. It is for you to reconsidering the reschedule.
  • The best way you can help the micro business is that, If you cannot attend booked classes, please give it to your friends and family. They will thank you for that as our classes are excellent. They will return the favour to you. It is win-win-win for all.
  • The last to mention, laterness. Please arrive earlier to allow the class starts on time. It is to respect other customers who booked the same class. Later than 15 minutes to agreed time will see booking cancelled with no refund or reschedule.

What to bring
  • Dumpling/gyoza pastry (if you choose a frozen variety, please defrost it before your class).
  • 500g pork mince.
  • 250g Chinese leaves.
  • x 1 or x 2 eggs.
  • Wheat flour 500g (if you'd like to make your pastry yourself).
  • 1 x large pot for boiling your dumplings (5 litre + is best)
  • 1 x non-stick pan/wok with lid for frying your dumplings.
Please feel free to get in touch with your teacher after booking this class to discuss swapping out certain ingredients to suit your dietary requirements.
Suitable for

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 10 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.
