Solder using a blow torch.
Shape using a hammer and mandrel.

Art Play London was founded by Silva Castellani in 2018, starting in galleries such as Phillips, and pop up venues around London.

Art Play is now a new art studio which opened in East London in February 2022, where children and adults of all ages are free to release their imaginations and inner creativity.

Art Play has a strong focus and the environment and aims to educate children and adults on their environmental impact through art, using a variety of sustainable mediums and materials.

Art Play is part of the worldwide Precious Plastic community which means it will be a plastic collection point for people to drop off their HDPE plastic which would otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean. The plastic is then shredding and melted and turned into useful objects and pieces of art, such as plant pots and coasters.

Denna the instructor was very informative and friendly. Interacted with the group and explained each part of the process in detail as we did it. Only downside was the class was held upstairs in a bar rather than the Artplay Studio and it was a bit cold despite there being a heater above the table.

She spoke clearly and slowly to us all so we could follow her as we were all deaf except one lovely hearing friend who interpreted for us during the workshop. We had a really good time at the class. The instructions from Denna were clear and helpful. We love our ring and wear it everyday. Sadly our class was a little bit overbooked and so we had to wait in between every step for quite some time, but you can buy drinks at the venue and sweeten the waiting time in that way.

Hello we have only had time now to send you this review as the girls had to prepare for going back to school etc.
Both girls and the lady who accompanied them thoroughly enjoyed their Ring making experience and informed us that the teacher was very patient and helpful during their lesson; they worked with silver, learned how to beat it into designs and shape and created their own rings which they were proud to show us as being "all their own work"!
The location in near Spitalfields was quite easy to find as you had provided clear directions and nearby points of reference.
We will recommend this class to others as a fun activity to do in that area.

Great workshop in a good location. Jenna was welcoming and fun making the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. Everything was set up and ready to go. Instructions were clear, help was on hand and your progress was monitored and supported. My daughter and I came away with fab rings and we were really pleased with them. A great experience.
We learnt about sizing, shaping, soldiering, cleaning, shaping, adding texture/pattern. We were also given information about purchasing our own tools if requested.
Examples were available so you could see the possible outcomes. If anything didn’t quite go to plan, Jenna was great at fixing it.

I had a great experience at this class. Denna was a brilliant teacher, really engaging and took her time to make sure everyone had the assistance they needed. The steps were clear and easy to follow. The space itself is really easy to find, there's a bar so we were able to enjoy some wine whilst making our rings. There were even a couple of really sweet (calm) studio dogs wandering around.

I would 100% recommend this class to others looking to learn the basics or wanting a sweet keepsake.

The space where the workshop took place was full of art which made me feel good. On one side people painting and at the other end "jewellery makers" ahah. The teacher was really cool and explained well the whole process supporting you on any doubt. I enjoy art & craft in general and this was one more try in that vast field. The ring turned out really nice (I wish it was a bit wider so that the texture was more noticeable).
The material was included on the price. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Great two hours this afternoon =)

Denna was so friendly and charismatic. I wish all of my teachers were like her. She made things so easy to understand and even with late comers it didn’t feel as if anyone was left behind or waiting without anything to do. You really get your moneys worth and I would love to do another course with Denna in the future. The rings we made tuned out great and you really get to customise them. You also learn a lot and really understand the process and I would feel 100% confident doing it unaided. Everyone in the class was chatting there was such a nice relaxed energy. There were some couples and some people on their own which blended nicely. The location was also easy to find.

It was so much fun and the teacher was great, she created an amazing atmosphere and got us all talking and working quickly. I would love to do more workshops like this, it was a great afternoon of fun and love that I have a beautiful shiny keepsake.
