If you love a good cuppa and need relaxing things to do in London, why not learn all about classic Chinese tea desserts at this fun class in Tufnell Park?
Drinking tea has been a tradition in China for thousands of years, with different desserts accompanying this delicious drink across history. From mooncake and mochi to wagashi and dim sum, these snacks can be made in countless varieties, using many different flavours and tastes!
In this class, you'll embark on a guided journey of the popular tea desserts of 10th-century China and learn to make one type of authentic tea snacks yourself.
Friendly chefs Hanna and Simon will provide step-by-step guidance and answer any questions you may have as you learn to make flavourful Chinese dessert recipes to pair with tea in a spacious kitchen with air conditioner.
At the end of this dessert making class in London, you'll have a selection of beautiful, authentic tea snacks to enjoy or give as handmade gifts to your family and friends!
In this class, you will:
- Learn to prepare the pastry.
- Learn to prepare the filling.
- Learn to wrap, shape and craft.
- Explore classic tea history.
- Learn to pair tea with snacks.
- Make the snacks by hand.
- Enjoy your snacks with tea.
Allergy and diet requirements:
This is suitable for Gluten-free, Dairy-free and Vegan diet.
Add-on Classes:
- All Add-ons are in the same class. It is to save your time and make the class more fun. Please allow extra time, 30 minutes to 1 hour. You can always contact us before booking to find out more details.
- Crystal Tea Snack. The pastry will become transparent. Contains Gluten.
- Classic Chinese Green Mochi. Use natural herbal to give special colour and flavour.
- Pineapple Cookie. It is the one require baking in oven. Popular in Taiwan area. Contains Gluten.
Please note:
- Your teacher can travel to host this class at a venue of your choice or client site. Please enquire about this when booking.
- This class does not suitable for pregnant women and young children as the workload and the length of class.
- Please do not bring your own drinks or food to the class.
Refund and Reschedule:
- Please book the date you definitely can attend to help other customers' bookings.
- There is no refund for cancellation.
- Later than 15 minutes to agreed time will see booking cancelled with no refund or reschedule.
- Possibility of Reschedule is very limited and will be charged £50 per booking.

Knowledge required
- Beginner-friendly.
- Children over 14 are welcome as long as with paid adults. Everyone requires a ticket. Children learn better when parents participate.
- A person under 18 cannot attend the class alone. We will ask for valid IDs if you look very young. Your class will be cancelled without a refund if you fail to provide proof. It is for your safety and required by the insurance policy. If we don't follow this, this class will not be allowed to continue. Thank you for your understanding.
