For some truly unique Christmas party ideas in London, look no further! The city is a festive wonderland in 2026, offering a brilliant selection of activities for both workplace celebrations and family fun – so skip the standard dinner and drinks and get hands-on with a creative workshop instead. You could get into the festive spirit with a DIY Christmas decorations class, tantalise your taste buds with a Christmas cooking class full of seasonal spices, or craft a beautiful wreath to hang on your door. Whatever you choose, these unforgettable experiences are perfect for bringing everyone together this Yuletide season.
Exciting Christmas party ideas in London
Whether you’re gathering all your nearest and dearest together for a big festive bash in the city or want intimate work party ideas for small groups, there are crafters across the city from Bermondsey to Bethnal Green waiting to share their festive spirit with you. No matter your group’s interests, age or tastes, there’s a huge variety of creative classes ready to be unwrapped.
Want to cut down on your plastic and give your decorations a more personal touch? Deck the halls with a Christmas decoration making class! Whether they’re made of ceramic, fused glass or upcycled from bric-a-brac, making your own festive baubles in a brilliant way to get everyone in the mood for a fabulous Christmas! Led by an experienced artisan, you'll be able to whip up wonderful DIY decorations to adorn your tree, your walls and even your front door!
Maybe you’re a family of foodies who fancy a break from the traditional festive spread. Come along to a Christmas cooking class and discover that there’s more to yuletide dining than turkey and trimmings! From an indulgent three-bird roast to a handmade sweet centrepiece to rival the traditional figgy pud, getting everyone involved in the dinner preparations will make this a Christmas to remember!
If you’re in charge of the office festivities and want new ways to get the gang together for fun team building activities in London, why not try a group pottery class? Not only will your dream team have the chance to relax and unwind before the holiday period, but they’ll make some one-of-a-kind gifts for their loved ones — and that’s a new tradition that’s worth continuing!
How to plan a fun Christmas party in the city
With hundreds of fantastic Christmas party ideas in London to choose from, it’s never been easier to get into the festive spirit! Thanks to our friendly, enthusiastic teachers across the capital, there are inspiring workshops and crafty classes to bring a new dimension to any event you’re hosting over the holiday period. Whether you're looking for a way to thank your employees for their hard work this year, or gathering your nearest and dearest to get into the festive spirit, we've got you covered.
Looking for a fun way to spend time with your friends during the holidays without dealing with the crowded bars and pubs? Instead, consider organising a paint and sip party in London! This exciting activity combines the best of both worlds – painting and drinking wine or cocktails – in a welcoming and beginner-friendly environment. Painting at a party is an excellent way to get into the holiday spirit and escape from your usual responsibilities for a moment of pure creativity. And if you're feeling a little nervous about painting, a drink can help calm your nerves and inspire your imagination!
Of course, grown-ups don’t get to have all the fun: there are plenty of festive activities for kids to help your little one share the magic of Christmas! Is your child a mini-maker who loves working with their hands? Let them get messy with making their own DIY Christmas decorations such as a xmas wreath or handmade baubles! Whether they want to decorate the whole house with handmade bunting, streamers and wall hangings, or focus on the tree and create some beautiful baubles to use year after year, they’ll love getting involved with the seasonal festivities. Or why not teach them to make their own delicious, decorated Christmas cookies as a festive treat on Christmas Eve? They could even leave one for Father Christmas to build even more excitement for the big day!
Christmas party planning top tips
Planning a fantastic Christmas party doesn't have to be stressful! The secret is to get creative with your ideas. Here are our top five tips for planning a brilliant, festive, and memorable celebration that everyone will love.
-
Pick a theme and stick to it! This is the best way to get everyone excited – instead of a generic party, why not go for something more specific? Think a retro Christmas jumper party, a 'Winter Wonderland' with a hot chocolate bar, or a 'Festive Fiesta' with a cooking class. A strong theme ties everything together and makes decorating, food, and activities so much easier to plan!
-
Make it an activity, not just an event. The most memorable parties are the ones where you do something together. Instead of just sitting down to a meal, book a festive workshop! Our Christmas party ideas in London are perfect for this, with options like wreath making, Christmas baking classes, or even DIY Christmas decorations. It's a fantastic way to break the ice and ensure everyone leaves with a unique keepsake and some brilliant new skills.
-
Get the food right. Food is at the heart of any good party, but it doesn't have to be complicated. Instead of a formal sit-down meal, consider a buffet, finger foods, or even a build-your-own station (like a festive taco bar or a dessert-decorating station). This gets people moving and chatting, and it's often more budget-friendly and less stressful to organise!
-
Create a festive playlist. Music sets the mood, so don't rely on a single Christmas radio station. Instead, create a playlist with a mix of classic festive tunes and some fun, upbeat party songs. Encourage your guests to add their favourite tracks beforehand to make it extra personal.
-
Plan a simple gift exchange. A Secret Santa gift exchange is a great way to add fun to the party without the pressure of buying gifts for everyone. Set a low price limit (e.g., £5-£10) and make the focus on a funny or creative gift rather than an expensive one. It’s a brilliant icebreaker and always leads to some laughs!
