Your candle sets before the class ends and goes home with you. Around 35 hours of burning.


Learn to make a natural candle at our London studio, from essential oils alone. Candle making is a quietly absorbing hour: you focus on the scent and the pour, and the rest of the day falls away.
Your tutor starts you off with the fragrance families and how top, heart and base notes work together. You smell your way through the Yougi signature blends and choose the one your candle is for: sleep, energy, calm or lift.
Then you make it. You heat the eco soy wax, measure in your essential oils, set the cotton wick and pour your own 170ml candle. It sets before the class ends, so it goes home with you the same evening, with around 35 hours of burn.
A hand-poured candle makes a present that looks like you spent more than you did. Come with a name in mind and leave with the gift made.
For teams, hen parties and celebrations, we run the studio privately: everyone blends their own, everyone leaves with theirs. Message us with your dates and group size.
We have two London studios, at Marble Arch and Whitechapel. Each date shows its location, and full directions go out with your booking.

The essential oil blends you can use are all lovely and the teacher went through each step thoroughly, from choosing scents to adding the wick to adding the scent blend to the wax and pouring into the glass. In the end you have a lovely candle to take home (the wax didn't take that long to set) and more awareness as to what goes into shop-bought candles.

  • 3/5 from Eshani Gheewala, attended Jan 2026: An okay class - it was a nice atmosphere and in the end, we made a nice candle to take home but the process was essentially a two set process with the main bit of the class waiting for the candle to dry. It felt like quite an expensive class for what it was. Peter was informative and clearly trying to fill in the class with information about candles and the company. I think that because we couldn’t mix the scents ourselves, we essentially just picked a pre-made scent, mixed it in the wax and poured it in the glass. Perhaps it would have felt like you got more from the process if you could mix the oils yourself and if you could pick your vessel or something else to make you feel more involved in the process.
