What you'll do

Creating candles is a sensory experience that relaxes the mind by getting you in the flow and allowing you to focus only on the material and the scent. Learn to make your own beautiful candle at this lovely London candle making class and learn about the calming effects of aromatherapy oils.

Guided by your supportive teacher, you'll begin your candle making class by learning about the different benefits and healing therapies of a range of essential oils. You'll soon get lost in the calming scents around you and pick up lots of tips for creating natural fragrances. You will learn about fragrance families and what top, heart, and base notes are.

You will then use Yougi essential oil blends into your own soy wax candle. We will start by heating the wax, then you will add the essential oil blend, setting up the wick, and finish by pouring your own 170ml candle.

All raw materials you'll use to make your candle are cruelty-free, ethically sourced, eco-friendly, and 100% natural. This eco-friendly candle making experience will leave you feeling good without any concerns about your impact on our precious planet.

By the end of your relaxing London candle making experience, you'll have your own aromatherapy candle to take home with you. You'll also have lots of new knowledge on essential oils and the wellbeing benefits they can bring. Light your candle in a quiet moment to yourself, reflect on your new skills and soak up the scent of your creation.

This workshop is an introduction to candle making, we use the Yougi essential oil blends so you do home with a candle that smells good.

We have another workshop called Bespoke Candle Making where you create your own bespoke essential oil blend. This is 1hr 45 mins and covers scent creation along with candle making.

Have you ever noticed that candles make everything better? We did, but we kept finding ourselves settling for candles that were made from synthetic fragrance and paraffin. And they were too expensive to light every day. Because of this, we spent a year testing hundreds of fragrances, mixing waxes and experimenting with wicks to create the kind of candles we’d been searching for. This is how Yougi was born!

We started our candle-making workshops as a way of sharing our knowledge and love of candles and aromatherapy. We are proud to say that our candles are cruelty-free, vegan, ethically sourced, eco-friendly and 100% natural.

Teacher nice , pleasant, knowledgable and welcoming. Venue fine, although a lot of stairs might put people off (unsure if access info. is in details). Benches a little narrow and challenging to get onto for some over 60's like myself, and uncomfortable to twist around to see the host. Materials and experience were fine if a little simplistic. In the 40 minutes wait for the candle to solidify there could have been another like-activity - possibly an alternative candle making demonstration. A nice gift experience in all, thank you.

I would enjoyed more if i did the whole process of melting the waxing and mixing the essential oil with the ingredients that i like instead of using ready made ones. But overall it was super fun. Thanks

The workshop was great, Emily was lovely. The candles we made look and smell great.
I only wish we could’ve used a wider range of essential oils (in the workshop you use the pre-made mixes). I think that would add to the experience.

Good venue
We had to pay for 20 people even though from the we confirmed early on that there would be 18 people.
Teacher was knowledgeable but she needed a sound system to get everyone’s attention and needs to be more forceful in her delivery. It was interesting learning all about the background of perfumes for the candles.
I think the class was too big for her.
Overall everyone had a good time.

Really enjoyed the class. The teacher was very knowledgeable and every item we would need was laid out. My only small qualm was that we weren’t able to be as creative with the scents as possible (pre-made essential oils were used), but I totally understand why this was the case!
