Graffiti Experience

learn about street art and culture

Join a unique graffiti experience in London, take a guided walk and spray down the famous Leake Street. This hands-on activity is your chance to explore the vibrant world of graffiti art.
Immerse yourself in London’s vibrant street art and graffiti scene with a unique experience in London’s South Bank and the iconic Leake Street — famously known as the Banksy Tunnel.
Your experience begins with a guided street art and graffiti tour, exploring artwork around the South Bank before heading into Leake Street, one of London’s most famous legal graffiti locations. Discover the history, stories and ever-changing artwork that make this underground space such an important part of London’s street art culture.
After the tour, it’s time to leave your own mark on the tunnel!
Each participant will receive their own Street Art Paint Pack, containing:
2 colours of professional spray paint
Protective mask
Gloves
You’ll then have the freedom to find your own space on the legal graffiti walls and paint, experiment and create independently, becoming part of the constantly changing artwork of Leake Street.
There’s no need for any previous spray-painting experience and no pressure to create something perfect — simply enjoy the atmosphere, get creative and experience the excitement of adding your own piece to one of London’s most iconic street art locations.
Because Leake Street is a live, legal graffiti space, the walls are constantly changing. Your artwork may last a day, an hour or even just a few minutes — and that’s all part of the experience!
Explore the street art. Discover the stories. Pick up your paint pack. And leave your mark on London.

  • 5/5 from Jo Spicer, attended Sep 2026: Beyond Expectations This is an incredible event - you hear about the history of tunnels & more art in the tunnel. And of course get to have a go! I cannot wait to recommend this to others. It would make a fantastic gift or trip out… The teacher had a wealth of knowledge & was encouraging. We haven’t stopped talking about how much we loved this. Cannot recommend highly enough. Great for ‘bucket lists’ couples, families, team building. Fantastic. Fun & something different. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Amy Gutcher, attended Sep 2026: Alan was great - really interesting and gave us good tips to get started!! A great afternoon out with teenagers…!!
  • 5/5 from Jane Spadigam, attended Aug 2026: The class was so good! Alan came to meet us and took us on a tour of the tunnels and explained so much about the history and details about some of the art. We then did some bits of spray painting on the walls and some take away bits with Catherine. Catherine explained everything to us from the techniques to actually implementing the work. Alan and Catherine were honestly awesome and if I could tell more people to try this workshop I would be telling everyone to do it!
  • 5/5 from Vicki Beet, attended Aug 2026: This was a lot of fun. It was interesting to hear about the history of graffiti and understanding the skill involved in producing this kind of art by having a go ourselves made the tunnels seem pretty awesome. This was a great activity to do with a 16 year old.
  • 5/5 from Jon Luvaglio, attended Aug 2026: The tour and class was top notch. Both trainers had great knowledge and were excellent teachers. We had a private class for the 5 of us from differing ages and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely advise booking this class with Cockney Green and we will definitely be booking again in the future. Thanks!
  • 5/5 from Carly Lemmon, attended Aug 2026: We had such a great lesson. Cockney Green is so knowledgeable, friendly and patient. We look forward to the next one
  • 5/5 from Mariel Mollasgo, attended Aug 2026: Knowledgable and enthusiastic teachers, good tour, fun activity/class!
  • 5/5 from Linda Bresler, attended Aug 2026: Really easy to book. A great experience from the tour first to the lesson after. The teachers were friendly and inspiring for any young person celebrating their individual needs. Thanks
  • 5/5 from Eric Flint, attended Jul 2026: My two grandsons really enjoyed the session. The history part was really interesting and I also learnt a lot looking on.The tutoring was friendly and covered all aspect of the art and I cannot speak more highly of the class. It has encouraged a pensioner to grab a few cans and use it in my work. Great value for money.
  • 5/5 from Kelly Mewes, attended Jul 2026: Many thanks to the class instructors, the whole global team had a great time and the T shirt was a wonderful gift each of the visit, highly recomended!
  • 5/5 from Louise Maycock, attended Jul 2026: My husband and 16 year old son loved the workshop. Interesting and creative. Would recommend.
  • 4/5 from Sarah Roxburgh, attended Jul 2026: Teachers lovely, grandson really enjoy As did I, his Nana! Interesting bit of ‘history’ before the practical fun. Only thing I would say is the class wasn’t really long enough to have warranted paying for the T-Shirt….needed an extra half hour to do that as well I think. Wall and boards probably enough in an hour class.
  • 5/5 from Nicole Lane, attended Jun 2026: Loved this! We booked for my son’s 14th birthday but all took part as a family. The tour was really interesting and the workshop was great. We loved trying out the different techniques and it was amazing having the opportunity to paint on the wall amongst other great art. Katie and Alan were so lovely and were fantastic teachers. Would 100% recommend this and love to do it again sometime.
  • 5/5 from Lorraine Gordon, attended Jun 2026: Really enjoyed this class. Great teachers and very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend.
  • 5/5 from Otis Mooney, attended May 2026: I bought this experience for my son’s 13th birthday present, and it did not disappoint. Alan gave us a really interesting tour of the Leake Street tunnels, telling us about all the different artists who have created there. We were then taught by him and Kate how to handle the spray cans, how to shade or how to make different types of marks. They then guided us through creating our own designs on a board and on the wall - helping us with design colour and technique. We both had an absolute ball. Cannot recommend highly enough - thank you both for your time and expertise ️️️️️
  • 5/5 from Philippa Tilley, attended May 2026: Teachers were great - gave a tour of Leake street’s art, artists and history, and were then great at getting us all spraying and making art. We all absolutely loved it, perfect to do either as a team activity / with friends
  • 5/5 from Etienne Ac, attended May 2026: Loved the history lesson of the tunnel and all the different artists and art pieces. Amazing 1 to 1 teaching and explaining of the techniques of using a spray can to bring out different effects. Massive thanks and shout out to Alan and Kathryn!!
  • 5/5 from Sarah Rasmussen, attended May 2026: Thank you very much to Kathryn and Alan for a fantastic workshop. I booked this for my son’s 13th Birthday with a friend and they both absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend the workshop. Kathryn and Alan both went out of their way to make my son feel special in his Birthday and went above and beyond. Their knowledge and passion for street art was inspiring and the techniques they taught were great. Both boys spent the train ride home looking for spray paint and design ideas to start creating more art when they got home. The friend that came with us is now keen to do the workshop again for his birthday later in the year. Thank you very much
  • 5/5 from Kim Chin-Sung, attended May 2026: We attened the Graffiti workshop as a team of 7 to expereince this amazing art form which is embedded in the daily life of Londoners. Our teacher Alan was fanstatic so passinate and knowledgeable about the history of Leake Street and how garffiti emerged and how it is today. We got to create our own garffiti pieces to take home and add our own marks on the wall. Highly reccomend.
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Apr 2026: Learning about the history of Leake Street and learning how to spray properly. And I've got a piece of my work to take home.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Atherfold, attended Apr 2026: Kathryn and Alan were so patient and kind with our three children during the graffiti workshop session they both took a lot of time with each child showing them the different techniques they can use with the spray can, they practised a flicking paint technique, learned about outlines of letters and use of different colours to create definition around shapes. All three children came home with a beautiful piece of space themed artwork and lovely memories of spraypainting their designs onto the wall of the infamous graffiti tunnel in London alongside the work of other inspiring artists. Such a fantastic, creative and inspiring day and the perfect way to celebrate my sons’s 13th birthday, I would thoroughly recommend!
  • 5/5 from Lee Hitchman, attended Apr 2026: We had a great time. The tour of the tunnel and history was very interesting. Really had fun spraying the walls with our own creations and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming.
  • 5/5 from Lesley Maroni, attended Mar 2026: 10-year-old and 12-year-old enjoyed it enormously although the 10-year-old was a bit cast down by his sister being better than him. Exciting way of allowing kids to do something that would be illegal in other places! Would highly recommend.

At Cockney Green, we believe in the power of creativity to connect, uplift and transform. Based in London, our team of artists specialises in immersive and hands-on art experiences — from graffiti and street-art workshops to printing parties, mindful art sessions, window-painting and bespoke mural work. Whether you’re a birthday group, a school class, a corporate team or simply someone looking to explore your creative side, we bring everything you need: premium materials, expert guidance, lively venues (or we come to you), and a truly fun and supportive atmosphere. Join us and step into a space where your ideas take shape, your voice gets heard, and your inner artist comes alive.
My Story
I’m Kathryn McGuinness, founder and creative lead at Cockney Green. I began life as a Londoner with a passion for what art can do — not just as decoration, but as a tool for wellbeing, connection and self-expression. Over the years I came to realise that many people feel daunted by “doing art” (thinking you have to be naturally gifted) or are locked out of creative opportunities altogether. I wanted to change that.
In 2019 I teamed up with fellow artist Alan Davies and together we built Cockney Green from the ground up: designing our mobile graffiti boards, sourcing high-quality materials, finding inspiring venues in London (including legal graffiti tunnels and art spaces) and developing workshops that bring colour, fun and confidence to everyone, regardless of age or ability. We launched birthday parties, school sessions, holiday camps, team-building experiences and community murals — all rooted in the belief that “all art is healing”.

+1
Since then we’ve painted windows for seasonal displays, delivered mindful-art and print-making classes, and teamed up with organisations to bring creative wellbeing to new audiences. Our philosophy is simple: creativity is for everyone, it opens doors, connects people, and when you leave one of our sessions you don’t just take home a piece of art — you take home a boost in confidence, a shared memory, and a bit of your own bold mark on the world.
Whether you’re looking for a joyful one-off workshop or a deeper creative journey, I’ll be there with spray-cans, stencils, hot-presses for t-shirts and tote bags, lots of colour and, most importantly, a belief that you can create something brilliant. Let’s get messy, make something bold, laugh a little, learn a lot — and create together.
