What you'll do
In this workshop, you will learn how to make a granny square in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Light refreshments will be available throughout to keep those brain cells working hard!To start, each attendee will receive yarn in two colours of their choice as well as their crochet hook while together, we cover the basic elements of crochet. We will then move on to learn three basic crochet stitches and how to combine them to build up the famously versatile granny square. We will practise as a group, tackling any problems as they arise. By the end of the workshop, each attendee should feel confident in the skills needed to finish their project at home. You will also receive workshop materials to refer to in your own time as well as a CROCHET CRISIS hotline for any major issues (crochet-related, of course)!Looking forward to meeting you.

As a mum of two little boys I find myself most days chasing them through mud, building dens and doing a whole load of other random but pretty physical stuff. A year of bad health for me snowballed into a few hospital stays last year and I had to change my very physical, daily activities in order to properly recover. I started crocheting in my recovery and it has supported my physical and mental health ever since. I would like to teach others who have an interest in learning to crochet and help them gain the basic knowledge to create something they are proud of. My classes bring people together in a supporting environment to express themselves creatively and indirectly support each and every persons mental and physical health.
