Meet Victoria Haynes, the UK’s senior writer and resident craft expert! With over a decade of experience writing crafts and lifestyle content under her belt, Victoria now spends her days bringing her industry expertise to ClassBento, using the magic of storytelling and the power of creativity to uplift and inspire.
Day to day, you can usually find Victoria writing up a storm, weaving the captivating stories behind our talented teachers and wonderful makers. She also spends her time digging into SEO research, AI developments and industry trends, as well as sub-editing the team's work to ensure the website content truly sparkles.
Outside of her professional life, Victoria's hobbies reflect her love for creativity and nature.
A true craft connoisseur, she loves getting cosy with her crochet hook (and the latest boxset!), creating DIY homewares or upcycling tired furniture with a colourful lick of paint, and is on a lifelong quest to learn how to knit. She’s also a fan of life’s simple joys; rummaging in charity shops, walking through the woods and losing herself in a good book at her local coffee shop.
Career StoryAfter completing an HNC in Writing for Fashion and Culture, Victoria moved into the fast-paced world of visual merchandising for designer brands, while launching her freelance writing career part-time. She went on to contribute to various national publications, including Mollie Makes, The Simple Things, Inside Crochet and 91 Magazine, and built a social media following where she worked with household names such as Ronseal, West Elm, White Stuff and TK Maxx. A crafter at heart, Victoria also spent 18 months working as a photographer and crochet pattern designer for a partworks magazine published by Hachette.
In 2019, she left the world of freelance work behind and moved into digital marketing, spending 18 months working as a social media assistant and content writer for a marketing agency. Discovering her passion truly lay in words, Victoria joined ClassBento in 2020 where she was able to combine her lengthy experience in the craft industry with her love of writing, producing content that champions makers and inspires creativity across the UK.
Victoria is not just a wordsmith; she's a storyteller, a crafting enthusiast, and a creative force who infuses every project with joy. Having had her life touched by both anxiety and Alzheimer's, she feels that she’s found her true professional home with ClassBento, a company with heart that champions both creativity and mental wellbeing in equal parts.
