Let Your Creativity Bloom This Spring

Let Your Creativity Bloom This Spring

By Victoria Haynes

Spring has sprung! If you’re looking for ways to celebrate the freshest season of the year, grab those secateurs and get ready to create some fabulous floral arrangements at floristry courses in London

After enduring the chilly, gloomy months of winter, there's nothing quite as uplifting as the sight of vibrant, fragrant flowers dancing in the gentle spring breeze. From cheerful yellow daffodils and delicate primroses to the rich, jewel-like hues of tulips and the intoxicating scent of hyacinths, the reappearance of these floral wonders is a delightful reminder that sunnier, longer days are on the horizon.

If you're eager to embrace the power of flowers but prefer a more hands-on approach than simply visiting your neighbourhood florist, why not treat yourself to a London floristry class? We offer an array of workshops that cater to every floral fascination, whether you're keen to learn the art of crafting the perfect hand-tied bouquet or eager to create a stunning, lush flower crown that's sure to turn heads.

For those who love to get creative, our wreath-making sessions and Ikebana classes are the perfect way to explore your artistic side while immersing yourself in the beauty of nature. These workshops prove that even in the heart of the city, you can still find ways to connect with the natural world and let your imagination bloom.

Here's a review to prove it –

"Mandy was an excellent teacher, very friendly and helpful. The flowers etc for the wreath are really pretty and good quality very Easter/spring wreath at the end. What a lively way to spend an hour and a lovely Mothers Day gift for the 3 of us to enjoy." Michelle Ellitts, Spring Wreath Making Workshop

Our expert instructors will guide you through each step, sharing their wealth of knowledge and passion for all things floral. You'll leave feeling inspired, empowered, and with a newfound appreciation for the incredible versatility and beauty of flowers.

So why not seize the opportunity to embrace the joys of spring and unleash your inner florist? Sign up for one of our London floristry classes today and discover the magic that happens when you combine creativity, nature, and a sprinkle of floral flair. Trust us, it's an experience that will leave you feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to take on the world, one beautiful bloom at a time!

Unleash your inner artist with a Monet-inspired floristry class

From the iconic ‘Sunflowers’ compositions by Van Gogh to Georgia O’ Keeffe’s bold, large-scale bloom-packed paintings, nobody celebrates flowers quite like the great artists. So why not combine your love for nature with an exciting artistic adventure at this Monet-inspired floristry class?

Using the wonderful watercolour florals of Monet to spark your creativity, you’ll learn how to mix colours and textures to create a beautiful dried flower arrangement for your home. Led by an experienced floral artist, you’ll discover everything you need to know about selecting the perfect stems, transforming them into an eye-catching floral design and then caring for your dried flower bouquet so it stands the test of time.

Ideal as both a solo activity or one for groups, this dried floristry class in London is perfect for creative nature lovers across the city; head off with your loved one for a date night with a difference, grab your girl gang for a blooming brilliant hen party or get creative with workmates for a team building activity that will definitely make friendships blossom!

Cultivate that green thumb with a succulent wreath making class

Do you prefer plants to posies? Then why not swap stems for succulents and get seriously green-fingered at this wreath making workshop with a difference!

Led by a perennial pro, you’ll begin the floristry class with a brief introduction to the world of succulents followed by a full demonstration, which will show you exactly how to transform them from potted plants into a wonderful floral wreath. Then, it’s gardening gloves on and sleeves up as you’re invited to choose from a selection of succulents and whip up your own natural decoration – don’t worry if you’re a total beginner either, as your talented teacher will be on hand throughout to answer your questions and prevent any succulent slip-ups!

After a relaxing few hours immersed in nature, you’ll finish the wreath making workshop feeling calm and collected, with a beautiful new decoration for your home. It’s the perfect London activity if you’re looking for an antidote to hectic city life!

Get ultra crafty and mix posies with pottery

If you’re the super crafty type looking for creative activities in London, then your search ends here – our Ikebana and clay sculpture floristry class will definitely whet your artistic appetite!

With no experience necessary, you’ll be led through the floristry workshop by a talented local artist and floral expert, discovering everything you need to know about clay making and Japanese flower arranging as you go. You’ll start the craft class with an introduction to pottery, and will learn how to sculpt your beautiful base by hand before moving on to master the traditional Japanese art of Ikebana, ending the day with an elegant dried flower arrangement to take home.

Flower fledgling? Artistic amateur? If you’ve never tried your hand at getting creative with florals before, don’t worry – this flower arranging class is suitable for even the most novice green thumb, and will definitely help your new craft skills bloom!

Add some colour to your home with glass dome flower arranging

Fancy something completely different? If big bouquets aren’t your thing, and you just don’t have the room for spectacular table flower arrangements, keep it sweet and simple with a glass dome flower arranging class instead. After all, the best things often come in small packages!

If you’re a nature lover short on space, the glass dome flower arranging class will let you learn some fabulous new floral skills and bring the outside in at the same time. You’ll kick off this fun class with an introduction to dried flowers, where you’ll discover how to best choose your blooms, before getting creative and learning how to sculpt them into a beautiful miniature floral arrangement – under the watchful eye of your teacher, of course! Finally, you’ll finish the session by securing your work of art to the concrete base and topping it with the glass dome to create a beautiful ornament that will brighten your home and last a lifetime.

With no experience required and all equipment and tools provided, this is the perfect class for anyone looking for a new creative challenge, unique birthday party ideas or even just fun things to do in London!

For something a little more trad, why not try Japanese ikebana flower arranging? Craft community member Megan Filkins loved her ikebana experience with Flower Factory LDN - here's what she had to say:

"Nono was an excellent and incredibly skilled teacher with a positive, encouraging manner. It was a relaxed yet informative environment with plenty of opportunity for questions and further explanations. We practised 3 different types/schools of ikebana arranging - the last incorporating larger pieces of wood and stones. This meant we couldn’t take them home, but we did take home a generous bunch of seasonal flowers, an ikebana bowl and a kenzen to stand the flowers in and remake at home. Everything was top quality!"

Head outside for a floristry masterclass

Calling all flower fanatics! If you’re giddy for gladioli and passionate about peonies, put the petal to the metal and sign up to spend a day immersed in all things floral with a half-day floristry masterclass in the heart of London.

Starting at 8am (set that alarm clock!), you’ll begin your floral design extravaganza with a tour of New Covent Garden Flower Market, where you’ll meet your teachers' favourite suppliers and learn a host of tips and tricks for selecting the best blooms for your projects. Then, it’s time to let your creativity blossom as you’re guided through all the techniques you need to make three different, but equally stunning, flower arrangements. Along the way, you’ll discover how to pick and care for flowers, and different ways of arranging, wrapping and presenting them, so you’ll be able to continue your floristry journey at home.

A real treat for nature lovers and flower fiends alike, this fun-packed floristry class makes a beautiful gift for a loved one or a great birthday party or hen do idea. Just make sure you’ve got enough vases at home to display your creations afterwards!
