5 relaxing London hen do activities

Whether the bride is a creative soul, a wellness lover, or just needs a break from the wedding spreadsheet, these 5 activities prove that a London hen do can be sophisticated, restorative, and genuinely fun.

1. Pottery & Prosecco

Ditch the high-pressure art classes for a grounding hand-building ceramics workshop. In light-filled studios across North and East London (like those found in Stoke Newington or Hackney), your group can spend an afternoon pinching, coiling, and smoothing clay into bespoke mugs or vases. It’s tactile, deeply relaxing, and many studios offer a "BYOB" policy—perfect for sipping a chilled Crémant while you create.

2. Terrarium Building

For an alternative take on the traditional flower crown, try building a miniature ecosystem. Guided by friendly horticulturists, you’ll layer moss, pebbles, and tropical plants into glass vessels. It’s a quiet, focused activity that feels like a science-meets-art experiment. Plus, unlike a bouquet, these "tiny worlds" last for years—a living souvenir of the hen weekend!

3. Bespoke Perfume Blending

Nothing says "classy" like a signature scent. In a private fragrance masterclass—popular in neighborhoods like Marylebone and Whitechapel—the squad can dive into the science of top, heart, and base notes. Everyone blends their own unique perfume using high-end essential oils. It’s an intimate, conversational experience that smells as good as it feels.

4. Soothing Sound Baths

If there's one thing every bride needs? Some stress relief! Lean into her wellness era, skip the bar and head to a Sound Bath. Set in historic London churches or boutique wellness spaces, your group lies down under cosy blankets while a practitioner plays crystal singing bowls and gongs. The vibrations are designed to reset the nervous system—the ultimate detox before (or after) a night out.

5. Candle Painting Workshops

For a beautifully aesthetic and "slow" creative morning before diving into the cocktail bars, try a candle painting workshop together. Perfect for hens wanting to have a slower aspect of the day. Using non-toxic wax paints, your group can turn simple dinner candles into bespoke works of art with floral motifs or abstract patterns. It is a lighthearted, meditative process that is easy to do while sipping wine and catching up on wedding gossip, leaving everyone with a set of dinner-party-ready candles.

London Hen do experiences for brides over 30

For a bride over 30, the hen do evolves from a marathon of shots to a curated weekend of high-quality experiences designed to fill up her cup, rather than drain it. The goal is often effortlessly cool activities that feel like a treat rather than a generic night out.

Bento Cake Decorating

If you want something edible but want to skip the baking class chaos, try ClassBento's popular Bento Cake workshop. These tiny, aesthetic Korean-style cakes are all about the icing. You’ll learn delicate piping techniques, vintage-style borders, and colour blending. It’s artistic, cute, and provides the perfect treat to pair with a glass of champagne or cocktail afterward.

Ring Making

At ClassBento, we've found that ring making is a favourite for 30+ hens – especially if she's a cool anti-bride. Wax carving especially, is an intuitive process where you carve your ring design into a wax mould. The studio then casts your creation into solid sterling silver. It feels like a true jeweller’s atelier experience—refined, quiet, and deeply creative.

Wine tasting for hens

Forget the intimidating terminology. ClassBento's London wine tastings for hens are designed for groups who want to drink better, not just drink more. Whether you’re looking for a "blind tasting" challenge or a slow lunch paired with world-class vintages, there are plenty of wine experiences for a classy hen to explore.

Bendy Boy Candle Making

If you’re seeing the Bendy Boy (the iconic U-shaped or squiggly double-ended candle) all over your Pinterest or Instagram, you’ve hit the 'aesthetic peak' of over-30 hen do trends. Show her you know her with this relaxing, tactile yet bang-on-trend hen do activity in London.
