Experience the symphony of flavours in Chinese cuisine - sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami in this dim sum making class in Leeds. Fuel your food fascination, learn new cooking skills and make tasty memories.
In this Chinese cooking class, you will learn how to incorporate classic ingredients such as soy sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce, and a variety of herbs and spices to create authentic meals that make your mouth water.
You will learn to cook:
- Char siu pork – A dish featuring roasted pork marinated in soy, hoi sin, rice wine, and star anise for a rich barbecue flavour.
- Cui pi zha ji – A Cantonese speciality. The chicken is first steamed and then dried before being deep-fried to maintain a crispy exterior while keeping the meat underneath moist and tender.
- Shumai – A dim sum staple. Shumai is open-topped dumplings filled with either ground pork or finely chopped shrimp that has been steamed.
- Jiao yan you yu (Salt and Pepper Squid) – This delectable dish hails from Guangzhou. It often includes squid, potato flour, spring onions, Shaoxing wine, garlic oil, and chillies.
At the end of the class, sit back and savour your self-made dim sum in good company!
You will be provided with all workshop recipes to bring home so you can continue making these delicious dishes over and over again.
