  • 5/5 from Lesley Redmond, attended May 2026: Our teacher Holly was so friendly and patient. Only one other person in class which made it an easy session to learn as lots of attention and assistance. A really great class for the price, would definitely recommend. Lesley
  • 5/5 from Christine Wray, attended May 2026: Very enjoyable class, learned basics of crochet very nice and informative teacher
  • 5/5 from Zoe Dempsey, attended Mar 2026: Just a treat for myself. I have learnt how to do a slip knot, chain stitch, double and treble crochet, The two ladies who was teaching us were lovely and so patient. The group was lovely and friendly I went on my own. I was made to feel welcome. I love I have learnt something new that will help me take some time out and relax.
  • 5/5 from Diane Brown, attended Mar 2026: Really enjoyed the class, Susan the instructor was brilliant, to say I'd never tried crocheting before and also being left handed, I managed to complete the tasks on the worksheet
  • 5/5 from Louise Swanton, attended Mar 2026: Nice small class with one to one when needed Learnt basic crochet stitches in a very friendly atmosphere
  • 5/5 from Philippa Chapman, attended Mar 2026: Beginners crochet - this class was everything I needed. First steps and stitches explained clear and teacher was very patient and encouraging.
  • 5/5 from Trudy Ann Clayton, attended Mar 2026: Really enjoyed the crochet class. It's something that I've always wanted to do. We learnt how to do several crochet stitches for beginners. The lady who took the class was very patient, friendly and helpful. I would definitely book another class.
  • 3/5 from Lisa Long, attended Mar 2026: The crochet tutor (Holly@Guiseley store) was fantastic and very patient. However the class was too short - at an hour and a half- to really pick things up and practice getting it wrong. I also think it would be easier for facilitators if they had a co-pilot to support.
  • 5/5 from Christina Black, attended Feb 2026: The teachers lovely, it’s set at the back so you’re out of the way and it’s nice and quiet. Very helpful as I was a complete beginner!!
  • 4/5 from Nicola Cockrem, attended Feb 2026: There was only 3 of us in the class, which was good as the teacher could give people individual attention. She was very nice, friendly, chatty and patient (which she needed to be, as myself and my daughter were a bit rubbish. She mentioned at the beginning of the class, that she had been upset by a previous review, that had said she was more of a crochet expert, rather than a crochet teacher, which I can now understand. I say this is a nice way and not a negative towards her at all as she was lovely, but some people are good teachers, and I don't feel Hobbycraft should push people into these roles, who don't feel suited to this type of role. If I was going to suggest anything, I would maybe review how the lessons are carried out - give clear instruction on what you are about to do and how you are going to do it, rather than just showing people, one bit at a time, as it was hard to grasp exactly what we were expected to do. We were simply just copying what the teacher told us, one stitch at a time. I would say the teacher was really nice, but the lessons could maybe be improved slightly.
  • 5/5 from Joanne Ellingham, attended Jan 2026: Absolutely loved this class, Holly was amazing, so patient, gentle and reassuring. Will definately be doing another class.
  • 5/5 from Jane Toczek, attended Jan 2026: Excellent tuition.
  • 3/5 from Nadia Nasir, attended Jan 2026: Lovely patient lady facilitating the session but it was clear that she is a crochet-er and not a teacher. Her instructions and explanations were a bit vague and contradictory. However she was keen to help as much as she could. Clearer very basic instructions would have definitely helped me more.
  • 5/5 from Laura Barton, attended Nov 2025: Janvya was amazing!! Super helpful, really patient and a great laugh too. Made the class really enjoyable Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Rebecca Pearson, attended Nov 2025: Really helpful class, I’d tried learning on YouTube before but found it difficult so it was good to have some in person experience. • 5/5 from Julie Roberts, attended Apr 2025: It was a present for my 87 yeard mum. Three of is attended with very mixed abilities. We learnt three basic stitches and Holly gave us great tuition at our individual levels. The venue was great and we were surprised by the materials to take home. Holly’s friendly teaching and knowledge made the experience a lovely gift for Mum Thanks
  • 5/5 from Paula Moore, attended Apr 2025: Holly was brilliant, very patient and clear at explaining. I took my daughter who is 7 and has crocheted before, but on reflection I think it was probably too long for her (so would recommend for maybe at least age 11+?). We loved the goody bags and would definitely consider other workshops, maybe the ones aimed at kids. It would be nice if there were workshops available for parents and kids to do together.

  • 5/5 from Karen Joyce, attended Jan 2025: Teacher was lovely (Lucy). It was a gift for my daughter’s birthday and Lucy practiced crocheting left handed before the lesson so she could help my daughter who is left handed. Next night my daughter had her hooks out again. Thanks love Agnes and Karen
  • 5/5 from Amudha Thangavelu, attended Dec 2024: Our instructor was fantastic! Very patient and enthusiastic. The hour and a half flew by. My daughter and I really enjoyed it. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Wood, attended Dec 2024: Lucy was a good, patient teach. There were only 3 on the group as 2 didn’t come. I found it more difficult than I had imagined. I don’t think my arthritic fingers helped but I was able to learn the basics and I found it enjoyable and was glad I’d come.
  • 5/5 from Caroline Booth, attended Dec 2024: Really enjoyed the class. Very patient instructor. I am keen to learn more and start making crocheted items. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Andrea Broadley, attended Dec 2024: I had tried to learn to crochet at home but knew 1:1 tuition was the best way and this class did not disappoint. It was a really informative and fun, and the tutor was patient, encouraging and made us feel successful. I now feel I can confidently practice and continue myself.
  • 1/5 from Nathan Colehan, attended Dec 2024: Couldn’t attend due to illness, sure would have been a great course and no reflection against who would have been there teaching but feel could have let me rebook/changed to when wasn’t ill (didn’t want a refund I still want to do the workshop) just feel genuine cases should be accepted Very reluctant at booking another one now because of this - disappointed if I’m honest
  • 5/5 from Pamela, attended Nov 2024: Very helpful tutor, who worked hard to support all of us who were learning. I’ll carry on practicing (and hopefully improving) at home
  • 5/5 from Maxine Barrott, attended Nov 2024: I enjoyed the beginners guide to crochet at Hobbycraft immensely. Lucy was an excellent teacher, very calm and patient. • 5/5 from Angela Walker, attended Nov 2024: Was an excellent class. A great teacher and right size so everyone had individual help.
  • 5/5 from Stephen Ellis, attended Nov 2024: Great introduction to crochet for those with little (a couple in our group) or no (the reviewer!) experience and we all left having acquired skills which we have been able to put into practice since. Our teacher Sue was lovely - she was very patient and friendly and we had good conversation whilst we practiced our crochet. Would highly recommend
