Join our jmacramé class in Edinburgh and learn the art of knotting to create beautiful and functional pieces. Under the guidance of talented artist Lucy Wayman, you can make a plant or pot hanger or delve into a longer project like a macramé wall hanging or bag.
This macrame workshop will begin with some basics as you learn how to macrame as a beginner. You'll start with small projects such as key rings to build your confidence before moving on to your macrame project.
Gain confidence in calculating rope lengths and planning intricate designs using 100% cotton rope and a variety of coloured twines. To ensure your success, an easy-to-follow instruction manual will be provided, guiding you every step of the way.
For those opting for the plant hanger project, the workshop concludes after 3 hours. However, if you choose the wall hanging or bag options, you'll enjoy an entire 5-hour session.
This comprehensive workshop offers extra time for those already familiar with the basics to challenge themselves with more intricate designs. Lucy will provide guidance and even share suggestions for home dyeing techniques to add vibrant colours to your finished piece, should you desire.
Our courses and events take place in a warm and inviting home-based environment nestled in a Georgian mews home. On the hunt for fun things to do in Edinburgh with your pals? Come and try this mesmerising and rewarding craft! Leave your daily worries behind and fully immerse yourself in the joy of creativity.
