  • 4/5 from Victoria Clerck, attended Sep 2026: Olive was very nice and helped to draft a pair of trousers based on an existing pair. She talked me through how to start drafting things like pockets on the main piece, so you can see where it will sit and what the final piece will look like. Was a nice morning!
  • 5/5 from Michelle, attended Aug 2026: We booked this class with Jen as part of our holiday in Edinburgh to make pyjamas, as our very first sewing experience. Jen is an incredibly knowledgeable and empathetic teacher who guided us expertly through every step of the way. The atmosphere she creates in the studio is truly welcoming and relaxing - perfect for learning and creating! We leave the class with our new garments, knowledge and inspiration to make more things in the future. Thank you Jen!!
  • 5/5 from Alice Hamilton, attended May 2026: Jen was so lovely and the class was really useful, thoroughly recommend!
  • 5/5 from Frances Elliot, attended Apr 2026: Very enjoyable 1-2-1 tuition looking at a shirt I had made allowed for several improvements to be made to the pattern for future use. A great way to learn about pattern fitting.
  • 5/5 from Bridget Bryden, attended Apr 2026: I wanted to learn to draft a shirt. Jen was really helpful and clear in explaining the process as why we did things a certain way.
  • 5/5 from Mae Douglas, attended Mar 2026: Jen was quietly efficient in my session. We quickly transferred a commercial pattern into a toile and then worked on this to suit my needs. Within the 2.5hrs we had transferred the altered toile shape onto the pattern block. I came away with new skills and understanding as well as a block trouser pattern to use at home. It was a relaxing, enjoyable and informative class.
  • 5/5 from Kateryna Kuzmenko, attended Mar 2026: Pattern drafting with Jen during our 1:1 was great! It was interesting, easy to follow and yielded amazing results. It was my dream to learn how to make the basic blocks for my body shape and thanks to these classes it has come true. Jen accepted the added challenge of teaching me with my 7 months old baby present and was very friendly and patient with us. I highly recommend learning from Jen, couldn’t wish for a better experience.
  • 5/5 from Jill Harrison, attended Nov 2025: I’ve loved all my 1:1 pattern drafting lessons with Jen. She’s a lovely young woman who has a huge knowledge of her craft and is a real inspiration. I’ve read lots of books and watched numerous videos about pattern drafting but nothing compares to the personal teaching I received from Jen. I now have my own bodice, sleeve, skirt and pants blocks as well as a dress and culotte play suit drafted. If you’re undecided about booking a lesson with Jen, deliberate no longer, do it now you’ll not regret it!
  • 5/5 from Kate Toft, attended Oct 2025: Jen is a great teacher, and the 1:1 pattern drafting lesson in her lovely studio was paced at my speed with lots of opportunity for questions and learning. Looking forward to my next lesson!
  • 5/5 from Susan Johnstone, attended Oct 2025: Really enjoyed my pattern drafting session with Jen. It was a very full 2 1/2 hrs but I was able to go at my own pace and didn't feel rushed. I learned a lot and plan to go back for a follow up session.
  • 5/5 from Justine Swinney, attended Sep 2025: I really enjoyed this class. Jen is a great teacher - very knowledgeable, relaxed and encouraging. I would highly recommend her classes :)
  • 5/5 from Zara Fyfe, attended Aug 2025: Really enjoyed my private lesson with Jen. She planned the lesson according to my ability/experience really well and I’ve gone away with more confidence and understanding of sewing. Jen really generously shared some scraps and elastic for me to take home and practice. Her manner was really gentle and encouraging. She was attentive and hands on but knew when to step in and help me out.
  • 5/5 from Carol Edward, attended Jul 2025: I booked a session with Jen as I have been a dressmaker for ages but wanted to reach the next level in terms of fit and pattern alterations. Jen was very friendly and I immediately felt at ease with her. We worked through the process of making a toile and the alterations required to ensure a bespoke garment. I was very happy with what was achieved and plan to book more sessions. Jen is both patient and knowledgeable. The workshop is well equipped and has plenty of space. I would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Catriona McQueen, attended Jul 2025: Had a 1:1 pattern drafting lesson with Jen this morning. Jen was patient and friendly. She was happy to share ideas and hacks for what I wanted to do. Finished constructing my pattern and feel confident to come home and create my own project. Will definitely be booking again for he other classes. Thank you Jen.
  • 5/5 from Seraina Kull, attended Jun 2025: Super friendly and patient, thank you!
  • 5/5 from Delaney Allan, attended May 2025: I arranged a pattern making lesson with Jen as a Mother’s Day gift for my sister and mum. Arranging everything couldn’t have been easier, and they had the absolute best time in the studio. Jen was so responsive and helpful — they can’t wait to go back!
  • 5/5 from Caroline Gordon, attended May 2025: This was a brilliant experience. Jen was sweet, helpful and very knowledgeable, she put me at ease immediately. She was so calm it made the whole experience all the nicer. I’ve been sewing for years and really wanted to learn some new skills, but feared it would be teaching an old dog new tricks - I left the class excited and really enthused for developing my block. I chose trousers 1:1 session and will 100% be back for the bodice version. Don’t hesitate, a super lesson and worth every last penny :)
  • 5/5 from Laurence, attended Mar 2025: Jen is so lovely and helped me redraft my jeans pattern that I was struggling with. I didn't make it easy for her as I had already made changes to my jeans that weren't represented in the pattern itself! But Jen was able to get to the bottom of it and I now have a plan to have jeans that fit perfectly.
  • 5/5 from Barbara Hamilton, attended Mar 2025: Jen is absolutely amazing. She helped me draft a pattern, from scratch, for a prom dress project. I had no real idea where to start, but working with Jen made things much clearer for the very beginning. Jen had researched the design before hand and could point out ideas to work on. I loved the collaboration on it (and that she gently correct the errors that I had made). I am excited to get on with the making now. I can absolutely recommend Jen.
  • 5/5 from Jill Harrison, attended Oct 2024: Thank you so much for my 1:1 pattern drafting lesson today Jen. You made me feel very relaxed as soon as I arrived at your studio. You explained everything very clearly and I’m delighted with my completed bodice block and toile. All in all a great experience and I’m looking forward to my next lesson.
  • 5/5 from Lee Chalmers, attended Aug 2024: I loved my 121 time with Jen. I wanted to make a denim jacket and she helped me create the pattern and understand how to whole thing goes together. I’m sure I will go back to Jen to create more custom blocks. She’s is fabulous. Such a good teacher.
  • 5/5 from Susan Warren, attended Jul 2024: Jen is an enthusiastic, thoughtful, kind teacher. The lessons are so well organised, all materials supplied and she takes you on a clear path to creating your own body block. It feels an important and liberating skill to cultivate in a society that tells us our bodies must fit a specific shape rather than clothing being made to fit the diversity of bodies in the world. And learning this skill is an utter delight with Jen guiding the way. Thank you!!
  • 5/5 from Holly Shah, attended May 2024: The class was a great introduction to patterns. I have minimal knowledge on pattern drafting but Jen made it approachable and fairly straightforward - I definitely feel less daunted now! It definitely felt like a class which would be useful both to beginners and those who are more advanced. I will be recommending to others, and I can’t wait to delve further into pattern making!
  • 5/5 from Sarah Haigh, attended May 2024: I wanted to make a bodice block tailored to me so I can make clothes that fit better. Jen provided everything I needed, she had prepared the materials in advance, and had everything to hand. She showed me what to do clearly. There was some maths to do but we managed it! I took away a front and back pattern piece which I will use to make lots of tops and dresses. I also have instructions for changing where the bust and shoulder darts are, and got some ideas from Jen about different ways to shape the bodice using separate pattern pieces. Jen also mentioned that she has group classes running where I can draft some sleeves, and I plan to come back to make a trouser block, which will be two sessions. It was great value as I got so much out of the time spent.
  • 5/5 from Gillian Connolly, attended Oct 2023: Unreal Jen is lovely and explained everything so well can’t wait to continue my lessons!
