Have you had dreams of crocheting beautiful blankets, handmade jumpers or boho cushion covers but never managed to pick up a hook? Or maybe you have, but never got the hang of it. This workshop is perfect for total beginners because we start from the very beginning!
Crocheting looks pretty impressive, and maybe a little intimidating. Don't worry - it's all for show! Crocheting is all about wrapping the yarn around a hook and pulling it through holes. Really, once you've got the hang of that - you're a crocheter!
This workshop will start you off with the basic skills, techniques, and stitches that you need to make crocheting your new 'thing'.
Crocheting is an enjoyable and relaxing hobby that can help you to recharge and regroup in times of stress. It's an accessible way to look after your wellbeing and mental health as well as being fun and helping you feel productive!

  • 5/5 from Hannah Florance, attended Jan 2025: We covered the fundamentals to get started with crochet. It quickly gets addictive. Perfect for a complete beginner. I was nervous before the class because I was sure I'd be a distaster, but Leigh is so friendly and approachable that any anxieties I had disappeared almost immediately. She explains everything extremely clearly, helps you sort your knots and dropped stitches in way that helps you understand and progress. She is so encouraging and enthusiastic. I can can totally see why people get hooked (no pun intended) on this as a hobby, especially for good mental health
  • 5/5 from Katie Potts, attended Jan 2025: Brilliant class, lots of fun and learnt a new skill! Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Laura Wier, attended Jan 2025: throughly enjoyed the teacher Leigh's open and encouraging style. My starting point was what does yo mean? Leigh clearly has a wealth of knowledge with tips and tricks on all things crochet. What I liked the most that with patience i can crochet, even though by mistake i discovered how to increase. i had tried to self teach using a combo of books and you tube which left me feeling frustrated and cross. with leigh's teaching i really enjoyed the experience of learning a new skill, which i am keen to keep going with.
