Spoon Carving Workshop

Learn to carve a spoon in this unique woodworking class in London!

6 hours Class size 1 to 2 guests     £55
This is not your average spoon-carving workshop! Using interesting wood and good quality tools you will make a useful and beautiful spoon for the kitchen.
Aimed at beginners but suitable for everyone, you will be joining a small group of regular friendly carvers who will be working on their own woodworking projects.
You will choose a piece of timber and using a template, draw the design of the spoon onto the wood. Using a bandsaw, I will cut out the shape ready for you to start carving.
After carving, smoothing and oiling the wood it will transform into a thing of beauty! You can then take it home and use it to cook your dinner.

Hello, I'm Roli, founder of The Hall of Bright Carvings.
I started my journey in woodcarving with a short carpentry and joinery course, I then went on to take a longer furniture craft course. During both courses, I became more interested in carving detail into the pieces than the act of constructing them. This led to me taking a three year Diploma in "Ornamental and Historical Woodcarving" at the City and Guilds of London Art School.
Since 2005, I have taught woodcarving at adult education colleges and from my studio in Greenwich, as well as accepting commissions from individuals and churches. Come along and discover this special craft and spark a new passion!
