What you'll do

If you're into your interior design and want to add a personal touch to your decor, or are fascinated by woodworking but didn't know where to begin, this two-day workshop in London is a brilliant opportunity to try your hand at making your own beautiful bench.

Hosted by Tim, a local woodworking expert, you'll spend two days learning the fundamentals of traditional furniture making without the need for any nails. After some deft demonstrations of the tools and techniques you'll be using, you'll get hands-on as you craft your bench from a recycled scaffold board, including using the Japanese scorching technique of Shou Sugi Ban to create a gorgeous finish.

Don't worry about getting in over your head, as Tim will be on hand throughout the two days to give you all the help, advice and insider tips you'll need to leave with a bench you can use with pride. Whether you're coming along along to meet some new people at the Stepney City Farm or you're looking for a unique couples' activity or anniversary gift for a crafty pair, you'll love working with your hands at this amazing class.
