Puppet Making Course

Discover the joy of puppet making with a fully immersive tabletop puppet making experience in Harrow. Whether you're an experienced puppet maker or a complete beginner, this mixed-level course offers a fun and creative way to learn the art of puppetry. Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to design and build your own tabletop puppet from scratch, including the face, hands, and clothes if you choose an extended course.

This experience is designed to be comfortable and welcoming, whether you're a seasoned maker or taking your first steps into the world of puppetry. Our expert instructors will guide you through each step of the process, ensuring that you feel confident and safe using the provided tools. You'll learn how to take your design from paper to a fully realized puppet, and gain valuable skills in puppet construction and making along the way.

The experience runs at your own pace, allowing you to work intensively and try to finish your puppet during the course, or take your time and savor the process. With an average completion time of three days for the basic puppet structure, the course can be tailored to your objectives and schedule.

All tools and materials are provided, so you can focus on unleashing your creativity without worrying about sourcing supplies. And to keep you energized throughout the day, complimentary tea, coffee, juice, and biscuits will be available.

By the end of the experience, you'll have not only gained new knowledge and skills in puppet making but also a beautiful tabletop puppet to take home. This transformational experience will leave you with a sense of accomplishment and a newfound passion for the world of puppetry.

The average time to make the basic puppet structure if you are having one to one tuition would be three days.

You can take the course at your own pace, whether you decide to work intensively and try to finish the puppet structure over your course is up to you.
Days usually run from 11am – 6pm with up to an hour’s break for lunch.

After the first session, subsequent sessions can be arranged with the teacher, at a time that suits you.
