What you'll do

Guided by expert craftsman David, you'll learn all about construction skills such as measuring, sawing, drilling, sanding, shaping and assembly as you build a gorgeous folding deckchair to take home.
Your teacher will provide all of the woodworking tools and materials you need for your piece, so all you have to bring is your creative side and a willingness to get stuck in.
On the hunt for fun things to do in Surrey with a partner? No deckchair is complete without a companion, giving you a perfect chance to enjoy quality time as you try your hand at woodworking projects as a pair!
You'll finish this workshop with your handmade deckchair to take home and plenty of new woodworking skills to continue developing in your own time.

At the Great British Woodshop, students of all abilities are given a warm welcome at our large and fully tooled workshop in West Byfleet, Surrey.
Courses are run by woodworking craftsman and television presenter David Free. DRB certified, David has been practising woodwork for 40 years and has been teaching all ages for 20 of those. David is passionate about sharing his woodwork and DIY knowledge with others.
