DIY Workshop: Hanging a Door

If your interior doors are looking a bit long in the tooth and you want to give them a bit of an update, you'll love learning the fundamentals in this friendly DIY workshop.In this practical class, you will learn how to hang a door. You will mark out for hinges, and create the mortises in the door and frame with a chisel and a router. Create the mortise for the latch, fit the door handle and hinges and finally hang the door.The Great British Woodshop practical series classes are a good follow-on from their Skills Classes where you can take the knowledge you have learned and put it to practical use in a more targeted or focused way.During the class, you'll learn:

• Marking out for the hinges in both the frame and the door
• Creating the mortises in the door and frame with a chisel
• Create the mortise for the latch
• Fit the door handle
• Fit the hinges
• Hang the door to the frame
