Come learn how to craft your own bespoke serving tray at this exciting woodworking class in Surrey!
Led by friendly craftsman David, this beginner-friendly workshop will help you get to grips with design, layout, cutting and jointing as you build a practical wooden serving tray using basic power tools.
You'll begin by cutting materials to size from a drawing, using a power mitre saw to create mitre joints and a router table and templates to make the tray ends and grooves for the tray bottom. Then, you'll assemble and glue your finished piece — ready for your choice of staining or painting.
Whether you're looking for DIY experience gifts for a hands-on dad or you need fun things to do in Surrey with your practical pals, you'll finish this inspiring craft class with your unique serving tray, ready to progress to new woodworking projects.

At the Great British Woodshop, students of all abilities are given a warm welcome at our large and fully tooled workshop in West Byfleet, Surrey.
Courses are run by woodworking craftsman and television presenter David Free. DRB certified, David has been practising woodwork for 40 years and has been teaching all ages for 20 of those. David is passionate about sharing his woodwork and DIY knowledge with others.
