Get ready for your next DIY project and join woodworking craftsman David at the Great British Woodshop to learn about the different types of mortice and tenon joints with this beginner-friendly workshop.Mortice and tenon joints are used in many different types of construction, including tables, chairs, windows, doors, stools and many other structures. In this class, you'll pick up plenty of new woodworking techniques and get to grips with hand tools as you cover the three main types of tenon joint — through tenon, blind tenon and haunched tenon.Your teacher will provide demonstrations of the equipment and be on hand to guide and support you throughout, so don't worry if it's your first attempt at woodworking for beginners. This workshop is all about developing a new skill and connecting with like-minded others. At the end of this class, you'll have a boosted confidence in your abilities and a fantastic knowledge of commonly used joints, ready to head home and put your skills to the test.Some of those skills will include:Learning the language of joints and warps. At the Great British Woodshop, students of all abilities are given a warm welcome at our large and fully tooled workshop in West Byfleet, Surrey. Courses are run by woodworking craftsman and television presenter David Free. DRB certified, David has been practising woodwork for 40 years and has been teaching all ages for 20 of those. David is passionate about sharing his woodwork and DIY knowledge with others.
