What you'll do
Join Edinburgh maker Jacky Cox for a unique pottery class where you will learn how to create stunning mini sea-washed glass and pottery plant-pot pictures. In this relaxing and chilled workshop, you will have the opportunity to repurpose and upcycle materials while creating miniature works of art.
Working with a variety of materials including glass, recycled crockery, slate, and sea glass collected from Scottish shores, Jacky will guide you in carefully selecting the perfect pieces for your pictures. The sea-washed glass and pottery are incredibly tactile, and part of the relaxation comes from the mindful process of selecting pieces that feel and look harmonious.
During the workshop, you will also have the chance to choose colours for your backgrounds and design your pictures, which will be displayed in a deep-set frame. This hands-on experience may even inspire you to embark on your own beach combing adventures and create more lovely works of art at home.
(Please note that the frames may differ from those in the images, depending on availability).
PLEASE NOTE: Our workshop space is on the first-floor of a Georgian mews building and unfortunately we do not have lift access. The workshop space is in our home which is not nut free. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies before booking.

The Collective was set up to help local artists and makers earn a living through sharing their creative skills and passions with others. Our name emanates from Loch Arienas: a remote and reflective spot in the Scottish Highlands much loved by founder Lynn Powell.
