What you'll do
This new workshop for 2024 is an exclusive collaboration between two fabulous Scottish creatives: Kerry from small batch candle company Can To Candle, and Jenny from community-minded soap makers The Scottish Soapworks.
On this bespoke 5-hour experience, you will learn the basic skills you need to create a scented container candle made from 100% soy wax, and organic glycerine soap bars using a vegan, cruelty-free base and pure essential oils, based on tried and tested recipes.
The morning will begin with a soap pouring session, working with a specially selected blend of essential oils to create two different recipes.
Following a short refreshment break, you will then learn how to pour your container candle selecting your own scent from the Can to Candle fragrance library.
While your soaps and candles are laid aside to harden and cure, we will take a break for a warming lunch of vegetarian soup served with locally-sourced sourdough bread.
After lunch you will learn how to adorn and wrap your candle and soaps to create a beautiful bespoke gift set, adding a wax seal for that extra special finishing touch.
You will take home your gift-wrapped scented container candle and two fragranced soaps, and notes from your workshop will be emailed to you afterwards so you can continue making more at home if you wish.
All your equipment, materials, workshop notes, speciality teas, coffee and lunch are included in the price.
