Keen to add a colourful pop to your home and want to express yourself creatively? Come along to this workshop and explore the versatile material of Jesmonite. Create fun popping colours or stick to the neutral colours- learning bothe Terrazo style effect and marble effect.
Jesmonite is made using a compound and a water-based resin that will create a different effect each time you use it, so no two pieces will ever be the same. You will learn how to measure out components, mixing and adding colours and textural effects to create your unique piece of art. As well as how to sand and seal your tray to finish it off.
This material is safe, non-toxic and environmentally friendly too.
To ensure an uninterrupted and fun workshop for all participants, we kindly request that attendees arrive on time, as late arrivals exceeding a 10-minute delay will be turned away to avoid disruption to the ongoing class and inconvenience to others.

Art Play London was founded by Silva Castellani in 2018, starting in galleries such as Phillips, and pop up venues around London.
Art Play is now a new art studio which opened in East London in February 2022, where children and adults of all ages are free to release their imaginations and inner creativity.
Art Play has a strong focus and the environment and aims to educate children and adults on their environmental impact through art, using a variety of sustainable mediums and materials.
Art Play is part of the worldwide Precious Plastic community which means it will be a plastic collection point for people to drop off their HDPE plastic which would otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean. The plastic is then shredding and melted and turned into useful objects and pieces of art, such as plant pots and coasters.

Very fun social activity but I found that the instructions were unclear. I thought it would have been helpful for the teacher to make a trey first so that we could follow in her lead but because the instructions were so unclear she was huddling and bustling around trying to help us rather than have us follow in her lead. We ended up making a lot of errors ourselves by trying to follow each other.
Would have been great to have all the instructions up front at the beginning of class, maybe printed out at the head of the table even, then repeated step by step through the process.
