Art Play London was founded by Silva Castellani in 2018, starting in galleries such as Phillips, and pop up venues around London.
Art Play is now a new art studio which opened in East London in February 2022, where children and adults of all ages are free to release their imaginations and inner creativity.
Art Play has a strong focus and the environment and aims to educate children and adults on their environmental impact through art, using a variety of sustainable mediums and materials.
Art Play is part of the worldwide Precious Plastic community which means it will be a plastic collection point for people to drop off their HDPE plastic which would otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean. The plastic is then shredding and melted and turned into useful objects and pieces of art, such as plant pots and coasters.

Me and my friends had the most amazing time! None of us are artsy or had done this before, but the instructor was so patient and friendly and made it very fun. We will be coming back!

Overall great experience - I booked out an unguided free flow painting session for my mum's 60th birthday and it turned out lovely. The staff were helpful even when a few of us were running late. The equipment was pretty good and we got to take the paintings home after. Lovely atmosphere, and it was a calming activity. Will definitely do it again.

The teacher Denna was brilliant during the silver making workshop. She spoke clearly and slowly to us all so we could follow her as we were all deaf except one lovely hearing friend who interpreted for us during the workshop. We all had an amazing time and loved the activity! Would highly recommend.

It was a very wholesome experience. Our teacher for the session was very clear with her instructions and provided all the necessary essential oils and equipment for the class. I would recommend this creative experience.

Has an amazing time at the workshop. I loved the girl that was leading it, she was down to earth, kind and very helpful.
I loved the aspect that you can have a drink whilst you are doing the workshop. The setting is so relaxing and great place to just learn something new without so much pressure.

Upcycling canvas workshop (no teacher). great experience. the canvases, although previously used, were perfectly fine to repaint on and plenty of material available. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were super nice. My daughter was celebrating her birthday with a bunch of friends and they had a ball! Highly recommended. ????

It was my first time painting and it was a fantastic experience. The place is very welcoming, the staff were kind and all the materials were available: canvas, brushes and acrylic paints. It was Sunday morning and little by little the place filled up, there were a lot of people painting, doing pottery or creating scented candles, some in silence, some laughing out loud. There was an incredible atmosphere of friendship and relaxation. It was possible to order drinks and food, in the end my daughter and I were supposed to stay for a couple of hours and instead we stayed for 4 hours. We will come back for sure.

I highly recommend the 'sip and paint' experience. We organised a session for my birthday and it went down a treat. Very generous with the bottomless proseccos! The staff were warm, engaging and created a relaxed environment. The only downside was our facilitator did have to leave our class early and left us to our own devices. The only other critique is that they need to provide more hangers for the coat rack on a busy day. If those were the only criticisms, you are sure in for a fabulous time! Would definitely come again as everyone at my party really enjoyed themselves!

We had a great time at the candle making class at Art Play. Our instructor, Sophie, was really knowledgeable and let us have free reign of the scents and decorations for our candles. We made one candle in a glass jar and two candles in moulds.

We had a very happy time At our class. It was wonderfully informal and encouraging for 2 newcomers, and yet the painting was taken seriously. Our instructor was clear, helpful and patient.

Great experience. The class we had booked onto was cancelled (group of 15), but we were offered Another at the same time and same location which was worth more. Great teachers, very fun experience, friendly staff. Probably a bit expensive for what you get though and the seating was very cramped, but would still consider going back.

Has such a fun experience at the sip and paint class (bottomless Prosecco and Harry Potter themed). The teacher was so lovely and patient with everyone, especially as everyone got louder and louder as the session went on. I was very worried the painting chosen was too difficult to recreate but the instructions were so simple each step we were so impressed with our end results Loved it and would 100% recommend The staff were all so friendly and welcoming.

It was our first time attending a class like this at Art play, we were privided with all the tools and had the team on hand to guide us where needed. It was such a great activity that was fun but also relaxing, we will definitely be looking to do some more in the future!

The class and teacher were fab! She had a great sense of humour and made the whole group feel at ease allowing us all to settle in quickly. She was really good at explaining everything we needed to know and helped us when we needed an extra hand! I'd definitely recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun filled activity and even better that you can take your ring home on the night! Thank you, I will be back :)

Amazing experience at the hand building pottery class! Bought this as a birthday present for my bestie and she had the absolute best time here. Class started on time and was kept small which helped to get the most out of it. Instructor was knowledgeable in her subject and was easily accessible to help anyone who needed it, as well as guiding us in making our bowls. All materials were provided including the aprons which is something you don't think you need but comes in handy! The clay was great to work with and you could tell it was not something from the store but more higher quality. I only wish the class had been a bit longer and we'd had some more time to work on our creations and maybe do some freestyling because I really enjoyed it! The best part was having the choice to pick up our creations later that day, as we had other activities booked and couldn't take the bowls with us but also couldn't come back 5 days later to pick them up so thank you staff for allowing us to come back later for these.

Had the best time, so happy we finally decided to book and do the class. The instructor was great, so happy with the painting they chose for the day, he was great and leading but also letting us be creative. The Prosecco didn’t stop flowing, they were great at coming round to fill up and I can’t wait to do another class soon, highly recommend!

We had a great time making collages! It was nice to have the space and materials to be creative and feel in the flow. The session was unstructured so we didn’t have a teacher and we were given magazines to use for our collages. We wills definitely come back again :)

Great venue snd fun idea concept The arm knitting blanket was great fun but we struggled to hear tutor due to a very loud and noisy adjoining art group. The toilets were also very poor ( ladies had two out of order and the third had no lock on door plus wash basins were also covered in paint)

Very fun art workshop and we really enjoyed the free flow painting. The staff were readily available and very friendly throughout. We left for a short while for the painting to dry and came back to collect later and the staff were very accommodating of this for all groups I saw. Would thoroughly recommend it! Thank you!

Simon was our teacher. He was really encouraging and very patient ☺️. The venue was bright and in the centre of Spitalfields with a really buzzing atmosphere. All materials were included. Generous free flowing Prosecco. There was no rushing out the door at the end. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon - way surpassed my expectations and would highly recommend to others!

I booked this class as a present for my mum's birthday and she said that it was one of the most amazing gifts that she has ever received. Sara is the best instructor I've ever had. She is super knowledgeable about metal clay and helped us achieve the exact look that we wanted. She is also really kind, friendly and very passionate about her work. I would highly recommend this class and Sara as an instructor. I will definitely be doing more classes with her in the near future.

Supplies and atmosphere were good! I was a little overestimated by the noise (noise sensitivity) so I had a mild headache but it was very fun!

Truly enjoyed 3 hour free flow painting. I had a project that I wanted to paint and ArtPlay is great space where I can focus on painting in space design for it. Super happy with the results.
