If you love going out in nature and exploring the wild forests of the UK, then why not learn how to make a basket to take foraging with you.

You will be guided from start to finish by your friendly and talented teacher, Nadine. She will share all her best basket weaving techniques and answer any of your questions throughout. You will take a look at a few different barks and their uses and how to store it for later use.

Over the course of two days, you'll learn how to sustainably harvest and process coppiced willow bark before you weave it yourself into a practical foraging bag you can be proud of. Bark is a great basket weaving material, especially when it is harvested in the spring and summer while the sap is running. You will also learn how to process other materials such as nettles, horseradish and various leaves for cordage.

Using the bark you have harvested and prepared, you will then learn to weave it into a small bag with a shoulder strap. You

Although your course will focus on making a bag, Nadine will share a range of items that bark can be used for. So you can leave with all the skills and inspiration you need to continue weaving DIY projects at home!
