Guided by carving expert, Steve Tomlin, you'll learn how to select and prepare wood for carving before you're shown how to create your very own bird using simple tools and Steve's specially-developed techniques. You'll carve your bird from a single piece of wood. Enjoy the process as you see your bird take shape!
If you'd like to try your hand at carving, this supportive woodworking workshop is a brilliant place to have a go at this immersive craft and make something beautiful in the process.

We have been running courses in our woodland workshop for over 25 years. The course centre is set in a beautiful 90-acre wood in the National Forest on the Leicestershire/Derbyshire border.
