  • 5/5 from Carolyn Withers, attended Feb 2026: I thoroughly enjoyed this class, and the instructor's clear guidance made the learning process remarkably straightforward. I believe my proximity to the instructor may have contributed to my positive experience. We were provided with two 100g balls of yarn and a crochet hook, which we were permitted to retain. Should the instructor offer another session, I will certainly enroll.

  • 5/5 from Karen, attended Sep 2025: Had a great beginners crochet class. Sarah was lovely, patient and very encouraging. Her knowledge was really useful and she helped us learn some basic stitches, including how to start that first crucial stitch and row. Also, really good to learn with others as we all were able to learn from questions others thought to ask. Would thoroughly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Wendy Smith, attended Jun 2025: Sarah was a great teacher. Very helpful. Enjoyed my beginners crochet course. Will continue to crochet at home.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Quraishi, attended May 2025: Sarah was a wonderful teacher and explained everything really well. She was so friendly and welcoming and made the class lots of fun.
  • 5/5 from Siobhan Middlemiss, attended May 2025: The teacher Sarah was really friendly and helpful
  • 3/5 from Liz Roberts, attended May 2025: I think Sarah was great & obviously knows what she is doing. However I think when dealing with a complete novice like me, it would have been better to start with a tighter cord or cotton. Yes the wool is flexible but it is far more likely to open the loose ply’s as I did when manipulating the hook
  • 5/5 from Tracey Owen, attended Jan 2025: Really good class. Teacher was very good, explained everything well. Not too many people there
  • 4/5 from Gail Wiggin, attended Jan 2025: As a complete novice I really enjoyed the course. Even though I am left handed and had been advised the instructor didn't teach left handed this wasn't a problem. Instructor was really helpful and explained everything clearly. Came away being able to crochet a square using two different stitches. Will definitely book onto the next level course once.
  • 5/5 from Sofeena Bi, attended Dec 2024: We really liked the workshop me and.my friend and we enjoyed specially Sara was very helpful and listen carefully to all our questions and try to help us aa much as she can:) thx a lot sara and definitely we ll come another time and bring our daughters to learn with u Ps: the only thing plz if u can extend the time and bit longer 30min more will be brilliant
  • 5/5 from Gail, attended Nov 2024: Sara our teacher was lovely. She gave us clear instructions and was very patient. We mastered double and treble crotchet stitches. The class was good value for money with the materials included and I've already recommended it to friends.
  • 5/5 from Linzi Smith, attended Oct 2024: A really fun session enjoyed by all three of us. We learnt, laughed and all came away feeling that we had grasped the basics. I'd thoroughly recommend giving it a go and I will definitely think about booking another session once I've practiced a little more!
  • 5/5 from Alison Kane, attended Sep 2024: Really good session with clear instruction. There was no particular occasion, it was a group of us that all like various different crafting opportunities. Venue was handy for all. The only criticism was that other shoppers interrupted. Materials were excellent. We were all very impressed by what was provided. We learned the basic stitches & are now thinking of booking the intermediate class once we’ve had some practice. The class was excellent value for money based on both the tuition & the materials provided. It was a really good & friendly class. One criticism would be that more attention may have been given to those struggling with the stitches. Some were complete novices while some had some prior knowledge.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Frend, attended Aug 2024: I attended a beginners class on crochet. From barely being able to make a loop I can now chain, double and triple crochet. Abi had a lovely calm manner and our class of 5 gave us all individual help as needed. I’ve had instruction before but never managed to pick it up to carry on at home before. I particularly enjoyed being able to ask questions and clarify my understanding. Knowing that you needed an extra loop to turn and where to start the first stitch are difficult to get from instruction books. It was helpful to have the printed instructions to go home with, now I understood them.
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Aug 2024: The teacher was really good, explained everything clearly and was supportive of everyone in the group. Venue is local, easy to get to and has parking nearby. Wool, crochet hook and instructions were provided which I appreciate as I can continue to practice at home, referring back to the notes if necessary. It was excellent value for money. I liked the relaxed, informative atmosphere and that everything needed is provided
  • 5/5 from Mairead Hawker, attended Jun 2024: I’ve tried and failed to crochet for years, yet within 15 minutes of the class starting I was crocheting!!! As with all my Hobbycraft workshop experiences I found our instructor obviously enthusiastic about the craft and sharing her learning with us. She had endless patience and explained and showed things clearly and simply. Before starting to crochet we learned how to read the label on packs of wool and how to correctly choose the tools to work with it. We learned how to make a noose knot, how to start the crocheting process, how to add rows, and how to perform different weaves. The materials and tools we were given were of very high quality and I shall save one pack of wool for a special project. I was also impressed with the wool being from the Women’s Institute with a donation being given to the WI. I would not hesitate to recommend this class to anyone. Another successful day with Hobbycraft!
  • 5/5 from Ruchika Juneja, attended Jun 2024: It was a really amazing experience to learn crochet in person. I had tried a few YouTube videos earlier but couldn’t progress much. The teacher was so kind and patient and paid attention to each one of us individually. She taught us the basic techniques and let us practice them a few times ourselves. I will practice more at home and would love to come back to learn more.

  • 5/5 from Angela, attended Apr 2024: Beginners crotchet with Abi was really good at the Solihull Store. The time flew and it was nice to learn in a small group.
