Looking for a unique and fun group activity you can enjoy with your friends, family, or even co-workers? Learn woodworking skills in a relaxing pastoral environment in Staunton Harold.

Guided by a talented teacher and experienced greenwood artist, you will spend your time together learning about how to use timber and woodworking tools to make an item of your choice to take home. This could be a candlestick, a rolling pin, garden dibber, or something else!

You and your friends will learn all about turning on the traditional pole lathe, transforming a log of freshly felled timber into your finished chosen DIY project. You will learn how to prepare the wood to be turned by using classic tools that all woodworkers know how to use.

During this three-hour woodworking class, you will learn:

  • How to cleave wood to size.
  • Axe work.
  • How to use a drawknife on a shaving horse.
  • The art of turning on the foot-powered pole lathe.
