2 x 7 hours Class size 1 to 6     label £200

Ever been interested in woodworking skills? Learn how to use a classic tool of the trade and make your very own bowl alongside Owen, a professional greenwood worker and pole lathe turner.

Throughout these two craft classes, you will be tackling a fun and relaxing wood project and building your confidence using woodworking tools like the pole lathe. Owen is a friendly and masterful wood expert who will share all his best tips and tricks.

During your first day, you will learn how to source and prepare your wood so it is ready for turning. Owen will then cover the basics of using a pole lathe, guiding you through some of the best practical techniques and helping you understand how to use one for plate turning.

Once you've finished turning your first plate, the rest of your time during this two-day course will be spent improving your skills and perfecting techniques. Owen will also teach you about wood design and form, as well as tool care.

We welcome all skill levels from beginners to those with some pole lathe knowhow, so if you've got a family member or friend who would love learning how to make their own plate, you can be sure this would be a wonderful gift experience.
