Team Activities London

Best team building activities in London for the whole team

London team building matters for real business reasons: according to Queens University of Charlotte, 75% of staff say teamwork and collaboration are crucial to corporate success. The best team building activities take your team out of the office and into a creative setting. Swap the scavenger hunt or escape room for a group pottery class in Nine Elms or a cocktail workshop in Hackney, and you'll see a different side to your colleagues without the forced icebreakers. From Streatham to the Strand, London's creators and crafters bring painting, pottery, terrarium making or even cooking and cocktail making to your team.

Just finished a big project or hit your goals for the quarter? Reward hard graft with an indulgent chocolate truffle workshop, a meditative paint pouring class, or a professional corporate cooking class for the foodies on the team.

5 best group activities for team building in London

Need concrete examples? These five London team building activities cover every type of group.

1. Cocktail masterclasses deliver an instant energy boost for the whole team. Try the Premium Cocktail Making Masterclass in Hackney (5.0 stars, from £45) – shaking, mixing and laughing together makes a brilliant post-work celebration.

2. Collaborative pasta making is a foodie team's dream session. The Fresh Pasta Class with Bottomless Prosecco on the Isle of Dogs (5.0 stars, from £70) has everyone rolling up their sleeves before sitting down to the feast they made together.

3. Kintsugi makes for a calmer, more focused team activity. The Kintsugi Class - Japanese Repair in Clapham (4.9 stars, from £50) teaches the ancient art of mending broken pottery with gold.

4. Candle making suits a mindful, low-key afternoon. At the Candle Making Class in Shoreditch (4.9 stars, from £48), everyone picks their own scent and pours a candle to take back to their desk.

5. Terrarium building gives the office a green upgrade. The Real-Plant Terrarium Making Workshop in Battersea (5.0 stars, from £65) has teams build a living centrepiece while getting hands-on with real plants.

Budget-friendly team building activities in London from £20

Team building doesn't need a big budget to make an impact. From £20 for the Hand Building Pottery Class in Shoreditch & Chelsea, London has plenty of wallet-friendly options that still deliver a proper shared experience.

• A hands-on craft everyone can join, regardless of skill. Sessions like Sip and Paint Your Mug in Battersea (from £25) and Freestyle Clay Workshop in Woolwich (from £28) need zero experience.

• All materials and tools provided. Budget sessions include everything needed, so there's nothing extra for the organiser to source or expense.

• A take-home piece for every attendee. Even at the lower price points, the team leaves with something made, not just a shared memory.

• Flexible group sizes. Cocktails and Pottery Paint in Wimbledon (from £25) takes groups of 12 to 30, so budget-friendly doesn't mean small-scale.

Add it up against a standard team lunch or pub trip, and a £20-£30 creative session is often the better-value choice – with a lot more to show for it afterwards.

How to plan creative team building activities in London

Creative team building works because it builds real skills – communication, cooperation, collaboration and leadership – while your team makes something together, whether that's a hand-built ceramic vase, a rug tufted in Camden Town, or a round of sushi. It works for every kind of team, from startup founders to sales teams and retail staff. Here's how to plan it:

• Pick a craft that matches your team's energy. High-energy groups suit a cocktail masterclass or paint pouring session; quieter teams often prefer pottery or kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold.
• Check the guest range before booking. Sessions range from intimate 6-person private bookings to 500-guest venues – not to mention sessions that come to your office space – so match the class to your headcount.
• Choose in-person or remote. Office-based teams can book a class at a London studio or have a teacher come to you; distributed teams can join a live-streamed session with kits posted in advance.
• Let the teacher handle the logistics. All materials and tool introductions are provided on arrival, so nobody needs experience – your team just needs to show up.

How to book remote team building activities for your workplace

Remote and hybrid teams don't have to miss out. Our virtual team building activities deliver a DIY craft kit to each attendee ahead of a live-streamed session – think candle making, cake decorating or brush lettering – so distributed teams can create side by side over video call. It's a simple way to combat burnout and keep everyone included, wherever they're based.

The business case holds up too: PWC found that every £1 invested in workplace mental wellbeing returns £4.70 in improved productivity. Booking a remote team building session is as easy as picking a date, choosing a craft, and letting the kits do the rest – no need to coordinate a venue or worry about who's dialling in from home.
