We have teamed up with Melissa Monks to bring you a whole day of cookery, nutrition, and yoga. Mel is a holistic lifestyle and nutrition coach and has been teaching yoga for the past 10 years. She supports her clients to improve their health and wellbeing using a holistic approach, which considers mind, body, and emotions. Mel discourages faddy diets and quick fixes and instead promotes a lifestyle that encourages eating for optimal health and wellness, as well as enjoyment! She is also a Diabetes Prevention Coach for the NHS and runs group programmes and private sessions for those who are at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. The day will begin with refreshing soul-lifting hot and cold drinks, followed by mindfulness meditation and a nutrition for wellbeing and gut health talk from Melissa. After the talk, we will have a refreshment break followed by a hands-on cooking for health and fermentation class in the Cookery School, including a light lunch. After lunch, there will be some free time to talk, walk, or shop. In the afternoon, Melissa will continue with a nutrition for wellbeing talk on managing blood sugar, followed by yoga for digestive health.

Harts Barn Cookery School is all about cooking for all – all ages and skill levels are catered for, and we teach everything from banquets to basics!
We provide a huge range of regular classes, workshops, supper clubs and events plus we welcome group bookings, parties, corporate and private hire. All classes offer a hands-on element and focus on gaining practical skills and knowledge as well as being enjoyable!
We view cooking as an essential life skill. Our ethos of ‘cooking for all’ means that we offer classes that are accessible, practical, affordable, give confidence and are lots of fun. We believe in the ‘socialisation’ of food, bringing people together whether they are learning a new skill in the kitchen or sitting down and enjoying the soiree! As well as cookery classes we run regular events, pop up restaurants, a Hire-A-Chef service, and provide parties, corporate packages, chef demos and have a wonderful earth oven, fire pit and large courtyard area for outdoor cooking experiences.
