  • 5/5 from Lesley Robinson, attended Jul 2025: Julie was great! She explained very clearly what we needed to do and demonstrated each step as many times as we needed. She was so friendly and positive the whole time. I really liked that we could choose our own wools, rather than having them already selected for us. I had never crocheted before and would definitely recommend this class for anyone wanting to get started with crochet.
  • 5/5 from Patricia Ross, attended Jul 2025: I have always wanted to learn to crochet, so now that I have retired I had the time (and inclination) to attend this class. I learned basic chain stitch which was then used as the backbone of learning double and treble crochet stitches. Julie the teacher was fantastic and put everyone at their ease and explained everything really well and allowing you to work at your own pace. I chose 2 lovely balls of WI wool and was given a crochet hook and the class took place to the rear of the store which was a good space. I like that I can now see how simple the stitches are and how they can be applied to make so many items.

  • 5/5 from Patricia Oldham, attended Jan 2025: My teacher, Julie was amazing. She started by putting us both at ease and explained what we would be achieving in todays class. I loved the pace that she set and at no time did she allow us to feel undermined. Were got to grips with double stitch and got half way to completing a square. I particularly enjoyed the fact that during the lesson Julie would suggest how best to practise at home and how to continue further on in my crochet journey. I look forward to my next lesson with Julie and hope it is soon. Thank you xx (Trish)

  • 5/5 from Sam Goadsby, attended Dec 2023: Julie at Hobbycraft Hereford is a great instructor. The course is perfect for absolute beginners, and Julie had endless patience and positive encouragement to keep us all progressing well right till the end. She was incredibly supportive and flexible in her approach to teaching, allowing us all to choose exactly what we wanted out of the course. We were each supplied a craft tote with two balls of yarn, a 6mm crochet hook, and printed tutorials of what we had learnt. Having used this during the class, with plenty left to practice or actually make something, it really encourages you to pick it back up at home. After around 20-30 minutes at home, I could make the piece in the photo without going back to instructions. Overall, excellent value - I'd highly recommend this for anyone who has tried and struggled to learn from videos, who just wants to try it, or fancies a fun day out!
