What you'll do

Join Harts Barn Cookery School to make the famous French patisserie, macarons. Whether you're a complete beginner or you want to add some more recipes to your repertoire, you'll learn all the steps to creating these delicacies from an experienced chef tutor, who'll share their knowledge with you and make sure you pick up these essential skills.You will learn how to make both the macaron shell and the filling, as well as how to put them together with different flavoured buttercream. There'll be plenty of ingredients and flavours to experiment with to find your ideal variety, and your tutor will be on hand throughout the class to offer the benefit of their experience and lend a helping hand if necessary. You'll leave the class with your beautiful macarons to take home with you, along with plenty of new cooking skills to help you in the future.

Harts Barn Cookery School is all about cooking for all – all ages and skill levels are catered for, and we teach everything from banquets to basics!We provide a huge range of regular classes, workshops, supper clubs and events plus we welcome group bookings, parties, corporate and private hire. All classes offer a hands-on element and focus on gaining practical skills and knowledge as well as being enjoyable! We view cooking as an essential life skill. Our ethos of ‘cooking for all’ means that we offer classes that are accessible, practical, affordable, give confidence and are lots of fun. We believe in the ‘socialisation’ of food, bringing people together whether they are learning a new skill in the kitchen or sitting down and enjoying the soiree! As well as cookery classes we run regular events, pop up restaurants, a Hire-A-Chef service, and provide parties, corporate packages, chef demos and have a wonderful earth oven, fire pit and large courtyard area for outdoor cooking experiences.
