If you'd like to learn how to cook seasonal game meat, try this cooking class and develop your skills in the kitchen this year.
Taught by an experienced game cookery teacher, you'll learn how to cook and prepare:
  • Venison and chocolate casserole.
  • Tea smoked duck breast.
  • Pheasant with raz el hanout.
  • Wild boar meatballs with rich tomato and basil sauce.
  • Game sausages from trimmings and left overs.
This game cookery class makes cooking game simple through demonstrations and step by step tuition. You'll create a series of game dishes using a range of meat from the Forest of Dean.
As part of your cooking class, you'll compare wild meats and their farmed equivalents, and animal-based and artificial sausage casings. You'll also compare making your own home blended spice mixes with buying ready-made ones.
This class is suitable for beginners so if you're keen to learn some new cooking skills and would like to find out more about cooking game meats, this is the cooking class for you!
You'll finish your game cooking workshop with lots of new tips and knowledge on how to cook game and you'll take home an oven-ready pheasant and a brace of game sausages.

Harts Barn Cookery School is all about cooking for all – all ages and skill levels are catered for, and we teach everything from banquets to basics!
We provide a huge range of regular classes, workshops, supper clubs and events plus we welcome group bookings, parties, corporate and private hire. All classes offer a hands-on element and focus on gaining practical skills and knowledge as well as being enjoyable!
We view cooking as an essential life skill. Our ethos of ‘cooking for all’ means that we offer classes that are accessible, practical, affordable, give confidence and are lots of fun. We believe in the ‘socialisation’ of food, bringing people together whether they are learning a new skill in the kitchen or sitting down and enjoying the soiree! As well as cookery classes we run regular events, pop up restaurants, a Hire-A-Chef service, and provide parties, corporate packages, chef demos and have a wonderful earth oven, fire pit and large courtyard area for outdoor cooking experiences.
