I took my partner to this class as a birthday gift, and while he was initially a bit sceptical about making a charcuterie board, he was quickly won over by the creative possibilities. He ended up having a great time and being really happy with the board he made. It's a brilliant gift for someone who likes making things with their hands (and eating cured meats and picky bits). After an early woodworking failure at school, I wasn't at all confident in my abilities, but Johanna's instructions were great, and with her guidance, I was able to bring my vision to life. This project is a great introduction to woodworking. You get to use some fun tools to make something practical that's totally doable within the time allowed and provides the opportunity to be creative. There were three people in our class so everyone got plenty of time and attention, and each of our boards looked so different, but they all turned out so well. It was such fun way to spend a few hours and then to get to take home a unique piece. I can't wait to have people over for cheese and charcuterie and be able to brag that I made the board myself. The class lasts around one hour and Malina teaches you how to create a beautiful fresh flower arrangement in a gift box to take home. Malina's is located inside Shepherd's Bush Market. The shop itself is incredibly cute; full of colour, flowers, and pink décor. The class takes place in a small room, creating a really intimate and relaxed atmosphere that works perfectly for small groups. As a complete beginner, I found the class very approachable. We learnt how to arrange a bouquet using six roses (three pink and three yellow), hydrangeas, and plenty of filler flowers, and Malina shared lots of useful tips and tricks throughout the session. She also gave us advice on how to care for our flowers once we took them home. Malina was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, welcoming, bright, and friendly from the moment we arrived. Her passion for floristry really shines through, and she made the whole experience feel fun, relaxed, and encouraging. Everything was provided for us, so there's nothing you need to bring apart from a bag to carry your flower box home afterwards. At £60 per person, I thought it was decent value for money.
